Reality show sweetheart Syesha Mercado to take the stage with a free performance and signing on June 3rd

The Shops at Mohegan Sun present the multi-talented Syesha Mercado.  Mohegan Sun will welcome the American singer, songwriter, actress and model on Wednesday, June 3rd in The Shops concourse at Mohegan Sun for a live performance at 7:00pm, followed by a signing event at 7:30pm.

Born in Bridgeport, CT, Mercado’s window of opportunity flourished as she beat out 100,000 hopeful contestants and progressed week-to-week on season seven of one of the top reality shows in the country, finishing third to winner David Cook and runner-up David Archuleta. Mercado’s gospel background and soulful melodies were perfected in Florida as she took home almost every substantial award the sunshine state has to offer including: 2001 “Best Newcomer”, 2001 “Best Vocal” and “Best Actress in a Musical” from 2001-2005. In 2006, Syesha won a slot to be a contestant on ABC’s The One: Making a Music Star and in 2007, her amazing voice won her yet another award in the Florida Super Singer contest. Mercado is currently working on her debut album in Los Angeles, California.

Eric Church will be taking part in a “Signings & Sightings” event following his performance in the Wolf Den on June 19th

UNCASVILLE, CT (May 19, 2009)— Immediately following his performance in the Wolf Den on Friday, June 19th, rising Country music star Eric Church will participate in a “Signings & Sightings” event.  This exclusive “Signings & Sightings” event will take place on the Spin Street Stage in The Shops at Mohegan Sun concourse, and is sponsored by Spin Street and The Shops at Mohegan Sun.

Eric Church’s performance is at 8:00pm in the Wolf Den.  The Wolf Den is free and open to the public and seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Eric Church’s album Carolina will be available on the day of and leading up to this event in Spin Street, located in The Shops concourse.

North Carolina native Eric Church has built up an impressive catalogue of Country music since forming a solid partnership with producer Jay Joyce just prior to the recording of his debut album Sinner Like Me.  The single “How Bout You” landed on the Country Top 20 chart and Sinner Like Me went on to be a huge success both commercially and critically.  Church’s sophomore LP Carolina released this year, is already being touted as a “must-have” by fans and critics alike.  The album teams Church and Joyce up once again and features the hit single “Love Your Love the Most” accompanied by standout tracks like “Longer Gone” and “Without You Here.”

Irreverent, cutting-edge comedy on Friday, August 14th

Jeff Dunham, America’s premier comedian/ventriloquist, returns to Mohegan Sun Arena with his Spark of Insanity Tour on Friday, August 14th at 8:00pm.

Dunham and his fast-talking, irreverent “suitcase posse” became household names with his hour-long Comedy Central special entitled Jeff Dunham – Spark of Insanity.   That is only one of several TV appearances that account for Dunham’s popularity.  He has been seen with both David Letterman and Jay Leno, and guested on Blue Collar TV and The Best Damn Sports Show.  The unpredictable “suitcase posse” includes Achmed, the dead terrorist; the self-described comic genius Peanut; runaway vegetable José Jalapeño on a stick; mild-mannered superhero Melvin; and feisty old codger Walter.
