Chicago and The Doobie Brothers partnered once before, on a 23-date tour in 2008. As was the case for those shows, the two bands plan to unite for several tunes during their upcoming joint outing. On the ’08 run, the bands joined forces on Chicago’s “Free,” “Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?” and “25 or 6 to 4,” and The Doobie Brothers’ “Rockin’ Down the Highway” and “Listen to the Music.”

Later, Valli went on to a successful solo career, singing the theme to the movie version of Grease and hitting the top of the charts with “My Eyes Adored You” and “December, 1963 (Oh, What A Night).” In 1990, the group was honored with their induction into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. As evidence of the group’s staying power, a musical based on their rags-to-riches story entitled “Jersey Boys” is a Tony Award-winning smash hit on Broadway.
