Every Tuesday is a winner as Player’s Club members can earn double Player’s Club points by playing their favorite slots from 6:00am to Midnight.

In addition to double Player’s Club points, many of Mohegan Sun’s restaurants and retail outlets will offer Two for Tuesdays specials.  Birches Bar & Grill, Todd English’s Tuscany and Bamboo Forest will offer two appetizers for the price of one from 3:00pm to 10:00pm. Diners are reminded with the purchase of appetizers, the higher price prevails.

Diners can sink their teeth into a juicy Geno’s Fast Break hamburger and get the second one free. Selections will be featured on their special burger menu listed at $13.95.

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts will also be offering a great deal by allowing patrons to buy one dozen assorted doughnuts and get one dozen glazed doughnuts free every Tuesday during Hot Summer Fun.  Big Bubba’s BBQ is also joining the Two For Tuesdays fun with a special buy two for the price of one Budweiser drafts. 

The popular Jasper White’s Summer Shack will be offering two desserts for the price of one when you order two lunch or dinner entrées.  At Lucky’s Lounge purchase one double topping pizza and get two free logo glasses with soda.  The Dubliner offers two free sodas with the purchase of one double topping pizza.
 
Two For Tuesdays is not just limited to food specials.  The Shops at Mohegan Sun are also offering a number of discounts on retail items as well.  At Yankee Candle, when you buy two regular priced large house warmer jars, you get one large house warmer jar free. Mom and Dad can treat the kids at Kids Quest with a buy two slushies, get one free special. America’s Memories will offer one matted autographed photo at regular price, get the second free (highest price prevails). Lalo Treasures will allow shoppers to buy two key chains for cell phone décor and get an additional one for free.

This summer, Mohegan Sun will host a variety of events that will get you up-close-and-personal with your favorite singers with the “Signings and Sightings” program courtesy of Spin Street and The Shops at Mohegan Sun. Want to catch them in the act? Guests can see a performance from former American Idol contestant Amanda Overmyer with “Live Performances Presented by The Shops at Mohegan Sun.” For those who prefer a mellow evening, guests can pick the brain of a best-selling author this summer with Mohegan Sun’s “Winning Authors” program.

Mohegan Sun is proud to announce a great lineup of artists participating in the “Signings & Sightings” event this summer as part of Mohegan Sun’s Hot Summer Fun 2009.  Country singer Jason Michael Carroll will meet and greet fans and sign CDs immediately following his performance in the Wolf Den on Friday, July 10th at 8:00pm.  The signing will take place in The Shops concourse.

Country music star Darryl Worley will also join the fun as he will host a signing after his 8:00pm show in the Wolf Den on Thursday, August 20th, which will also take place in The Shops concourse. 

Following his performance in the Wolf Den, Rock musician Colin Hay will be on-hand for a signing of his latest CD in The Shops concourse immediately following his 8:00pm show on Wednesday, August 26th.

The act that sets the stage for showstopper Taylor Swift, Country band Gloriana, will sign autographs and meet fans in The Shops concourse following their performance in Mohegan Sun Arena at 8:00pm on Friday, August 28th.

Mohegan Sun’s “Winning Authors” program, a collaboration with Spin Street, will offer guests the opportunity to hear noted authors speak about their latest work and meet them to get an autographed copy of their latest work. On Wednesday, August 5th, espionage thriller writer Christopher Reich will meet fans and discuss his latest novel, Rules of Vengeance.

In addition to the stellar programs, “Live Performances Presented by The Shops at Mohegan Sun” will have former American Idol contestant Amanda Overmyer perform on Thursday, August 27th in The Shops concourse. Immediately following her performance, she will meet and sign autographs for fans outside of Spin Street.

Get ready for the weekend with $400,000 Thrills & Chills Thursdays where Player’s Club members can earn entries by playing their favorite games from 6:00am to 6:00pm for their chance to win a Ford Mustang Convertible and $10,000 in Cash prizes each week. Weekly drawings will take place at 9:00pm in the Spring Gateway located next to the Box Office.  Guests must be present to enter, need not be present to win.

Ford Mustang Convertibles aren’t the only thrills on Thursdays because frosty beverage specials at various outlets will be featured throughout Mohegan Sun.  Geno’s Fast Break will offer $2.50 drafts in the pub area (select brews apply). “As with any tournament, we are extremely excited, but this one seems to be a bit more special as we are guaranteeing a million dollars – the largest prize pool in our history,” said Bruce Dixon, Director of Poker for Mohegan Sun. “Since we opened our poker room last August, each tournament we’ve held has built a wave of momentum in terms of turnout and success and we expect July’s tournament to reach even new proportions.”

Similar to the Spring Showdown, which was held at the end of April, the Summer Showdown, held in the Convention Center, will kick-off with a $150,000 Guaranteed No-Limit Hold’ Em event on Wednesday, July 22nd, followed by a Seven Card Stud Event on Thursday, July 23rd and a second $150,000 guarantee on Saturday, July 25th.

The Wild Wednesdays events kick off every Wednesday at 5:00pm with the Farmer’s Market and the Classic Car Show.   Mohegan Sun’s Fire Department Cook-Off begins at 6:00pm on the main stage. This is where the Mohegan Tribal Fire Department and Mohegan Sun Culinary Team challenge local fire departments in southeastern Connecticut to a cook-off “tournament-style.”

Food portions will be sold for $1.00 and proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross Charter Oak Chapter.  In previous years, cook- off proceeds have raised over $270,000 for charities including the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, Habitat for Humanity, the American Red Cross Armed Forces Emergency Services Fund and Uniformed Firefighters’ Association Widows’ and Children’s Fund of Greater New York.

The Sizzling Summer Showdown follows at 7:30pm in which area bands battle it out for the chance to be the winner of a $3,000 grand prize and a gig in the Wolf Den. A different Clear Channel radio station will host the event each week. All events conclude with rooftop fireworks at approximately 9:00pm every Wednesday during Hot Summer Fun.
