Mohegan Sun gives you a variety of ways to see your favorite celebrities this summer from our “Winning Authors” events “Signings & Sightings,” presented by Spin Street to our “Live Performances Presented by The Shops at Mohegan Sun.” “Signings & Sightings” gives fans a chance to meet top acts from Mohegan Sun Arena and the Wolf Den. Our “Winning Authors” program allows fans to meet and talk literature with top-selling authors from around the country. “Live Performances Presented by The Shops at Mohegan Sun” hosts reality TV acts in the The Shops at Mohegan Sun concourse.

This summer, Mohegan Sun will host a variety of events that will get you up-close-and-personal with your favorite singers with the “Signings and Sightings” program courtesy of Spin Street and The Shops at Mohegan Sun. Want to catch them in the act? Guests can see a performance from former American Idol contestant Amanda Overmyer with “Live Performances Presented by The Shops at Mohegan Sun.” For those who prefer a mellow evening, guests can pick the brain of a best-selling author this summer with Mohegan Sun’s “Winning Authors” program.

Mohegan Sun is proud to announce a great lineup of artists participating in the “Signings & Sightings” event this summer as part of Mohegan Sun’s Hot Summer Fun 2009.  Country singer Jason Michael Carroll will meet and greet fans and sign CDs immediately following his performance in the Wolf Den on Friday, July 10th at 8:00pm.  The signing will take place in The Shops concourse.

Country music star Darryl Worley will also join the fun as he will host a signing after his 8:00pm show in the Wolf Den on Thursday, August 20th, which will also take place in The Shops concourse. 

Following his performance in the Wolf Den, Rock musician Colin Hay will be on-hand for a signing of his latest CD in The Shops concourse immediately following his 8:00pm show on Wednesday, August 26th.

The act that sets the stage for showstopper Taylor Swift, Country band Gloriana, will sign autographs and meet fans in The Shops concourse following their performance in Mohegan Sun Arena at 8:00pm on Friday, August 28th.

Mohegan Sun’s “Winning Authors” program, a collaboration with Spin Street, will offer guests the opportunity to hear noted authors speak about their latest work and meet them to get an autographed copy of their latest work. On Wednesday, August 5th, espionage thriller writer Christopher Reich will meet fans and discuss his latest novel, Rules of Vengeance.

In addition to the stellar programs, “Live Performances Presented by The Shops at Mohegan Sun” will have former American Idol contestant Amanda Overmyer perform on Thursday, August 27th in The Shops concourse. Immediately following her performance, she will meet and sign autographs for fans outside of Spin Street.

Chill out at Mohegan Sun  with Hot Summer Fun’s $400,000 Thrills & Chills Thursdays with exciting promotions and dining specials running every Thursday from July 2nd through September 3rd.

Get ready for the weekend with $400,000 Thrills & Chills Thursdays where Player’s Club members can earn entries by playing their favorite games from 6:00am to 6:00pm for their chance to win a Ford Mustang Convertible and $10,000 in Cash prizes each week. Weekly drawings will take place at 9:00pm in the Spring Gateway located next to the Box Office.  Guests must be present to enter, need not be present to win.

Ford Mustang Convertibles aren’t the only thrills on Thursdays because frosty beverage specials at various outlets will be featured throughout Mohegan Sun.  Geno’s Fast Break will offer $2.50 drafts in the pub area (select brews apply). Krispy Kreme Doughnuts will also be offering a great deal by allowing patrons to buy one iced coffee and receive the second (of equal or lesser value) for free. Jasper White’s Summer Shack will offer their refreshing Frozen Rum Punch for $6.00.

Enjoy Mohegan After Dark at Lucky’s Lounge and The Dubliner as both restaurants will offer a fresh fruit infused cocktail of the day, served over ice with or without alcohol, a perfect summertime indulgence.

On July 1st, the Winter Parking Garage and Winter Entrance re-opens and Mohegan Sun is celebrating with a special 4-day promotion.  Thousands of new parking spaces will be available giving guests easy access and convenience to Mohegan Sun’s Winter Entrance and new food offerings.  This special Winter In July promotion will give guests entering the Winter Entrance from July 1st through the 4th an opportunity to win some great prizes.

“We are extremely excited to be re-opening the Winter Entrance, which as many people know, was one of the original entrances to Mohegan Sun and always one of the most popular with our guests,” said Mitchell Etess, President and Chief Executive Officer for Mohegan Sun. “We appreciate everyone’s patience during this modification time and know they will be thrilled with the new look and offerings. And what better way to celebrate this occasion than with a Pepe’s Pizza, a Bobby’s Burger Palace by chef Bobby Flay, or even better, with a special 4-day promotion designed around the winter theme.”

Guests parking in the winter garage from 7:00am through 7:00pm will receive an entry form into the drawing. Guests will have the opportunity to win great prizes like a Polaris Snowmobile, a two-night Ski package at Mount Washington as well as gift cards to Mohegan Sun and various stores within The Shops at Mohegan Sun including Yankee Candle, The Old Farmer’s Almanac General Store and The Golf Shop Store.

In addition to the great prizes, each day of this promotion, Mohegan Sun will also be giving away complimentary t-shirts to the first 1,000 people through the doors regardless of age.  Free snow cones and a special visit from a summer-time Santa will be part of the festivities as well.

The drawing will be held at 7:15pm on July 4th in the Spring Gateway located next to the Box Office.
