Signature dishes prepared and served by over 20 celebrity chefs make for an unparalleled culinary experience
Guests will marvel at the expertly-prepared feasts served by over 20 celebrity chefs during the charity gala at SUN WINEFEST 2009 on Saturday, January 17th. The event begins at 7:30pm in Mohegan Sun’s Uncas Ballroom.
On Saturday evening, the Celebrity Chef Dine Around will offer guests the opportunity to meet world-famous chefs, television celebrities, cookbook authors, celebrated restaurateurs and winemakers. The Celebrity Chef Dine Around brings together pairings of spectacular wines and exquisite signature dishes prepared by a lineup of culinary masters and followed by an elaborate dessert display, presented by chocolatier Jacques Torres and Mohegan Sun’s Executive Pastry Chef Lynn Mansel. Celebrity chefs include: Todd English, Jasper White, Michael Luboff, Robert Irvine, Govind Armstrong, Mary Ann Esposito, Jeff Henderson, Elizabeth Falkner, Pichet Ong, Douglas Rodriguez, Susur Lee, Christina Pirello, Lydia Shire, Chris Schlesinger, Michael Ginor, Walter Potenza, Ihsan Gurdal and Loretta Oden.

The weekend’s main event during SUN WINEFEST is the Grand Tasting, which will be held in the Convention Center on Saturday, January 17th and Sunday, January 18th, from 12:00pm to 5:00pm each day. Sample more than 1,000 fine wines and specialty ales provided by international wineries and breweries. Exhibitors showcasing related services such as wine storage, culinary accessories and specialty foods will also be featured. Guests will have the opportunity to ask questions, hear commentary from the winemakers and experts and enjoy delicacies from some of the region’s finest restaurants by purchasing tasting portions of signature dishes at a nominal rate.
Tickets for the Grand Tasting are $70.00 for a one-day pass and $110.00 for a weekend pass and may be purchased online at ticketmaster.com, over the phone at 860.886.0070, at any Ticketmaster outlet or in-person at the Mohegan Sun Box Office. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
