Mohegan After Dark: Unique Nightlife Experience Features Lucky’s Lounge, The Dubliner and Ultra 88
The nightlife at Mohegan Sun has evolved from gaming, concerts, sports, shopping and dining into Mohegan After Dark, an $8 million, 22,000 square-foot complex that features three individually-themed lounges, bars and nightclub – Lucky’s Lounge, The Dubliner and Ultra 88 Nightclub. Located along The Shops at Mohegan Sun and owned and operated by The Lyons Group of Boston, Massachusetts, Mohegan After Dark is a one-of-a-kind destination for evening entertainment in Connecticut. The complex accommodates 8-800 people and is open daily. It is also available for private functions with a full catering menu. Lucky’s Lounge is the East Coast’s first Las Vegas-style restaurant and lounge; The Dubliner is an authentic Irish pub; and Ultra 88 Nightclub is one of Connecticut’s most exclusive nightclubs with VIP seating & bottle service throughout.
Lucky’s Lounge
Reminiscent of classic 1950’s Las Vegas, Lucky’s Lounge is a throwback to the era of Fedora hats, fountain drinks and The Rat Pack. Its retro atmosphere makes Lucky’s the East Coast’s first Las Vegas-style restaurant and bar featuring New York style pizza and a variety of delectable martinis and specialty drinks.
A cozy fireplace and comfortable sofas greet visitors at the door. The lounge area opens up to the dining room which is dressed with black and silver trim tables accented with red candles and flecks of silver. The bar is shaped like an artist’s palette with more than 40 seats for drinks and dining. Families are welcome until 9:00 pm before the restaurant and bar becomes 21 years of age and over.
Lucky’s can accommodate 220 people for lunch and dinner. The full-service menu includes appetizers, pizzas, grinders, salads and desserts. Red and white 18” pizzas are offered. Guests can create a pizza or try one of the specialties such as the BBQ Chicken or Margherita pie.
Lucky’s Lounge is open Sunday through Thursday from 11:30am until 1:00am and Friday and Saturday from 11:30am to 2:00am. The restaurant also serves pizza by the slice, and take-out service is available 7 days a week. Every day there is something going on at Lucky’s Lounge including karaoke and dance parties! The Dubliner
Designed by Anne Browne, a native of Longford, Ireland and owner of Bar None Designs in Ontario, Canada, The Dubliner is an authentic Irish pub.
At the pub’s entrance, rich colors, decorative metalwork and an impressive hand-carved sign invite guests to experience a bit of Ireland in Uncasville, Connecticut. The striking black and gold facade with its hand-carved corbels and decorative metal-work offer a welcoming haven for concert-goers, hotel guests, shoppers and conference attendees. Inside, beautiful Irish-made furniture, traditional wood flooring, a cozy fireplace, pictures, hand-painted wall hangings and Celtic imagery remind guests of the pub’s Irish theme. The nooks and niches throughout the pub also provide an element of privacy and intimacy that is indicative of an authentic Irish Pub.
One of the more notable design features is the oval-shaped dance floor; the traditional slate flooring mixed with rich velour fabrics is a perfect example of the seamless mix of traditional and contemporary designs. The area can be curtained off to create a private zone or left open for dancing. The unusual metalwork that suspends the curtains is adorned with Celtic symbols to give it a mystical feel.
The Dubliner’s emphasis on craftsmanship is portrayed in the impressive 45-foot long mahogany bar, which boasts a 1.25” thick, solid mahogany counter top. The back bar is beautifully crafted with hand-carved wood corbels adding to the fine detail. The custom designed stained glass and huge central mirror add to the bar’s unique design.
The pub accommodates 170 people for lunch & dinner feasts of traditional Irish dishes such as Corned Beef & Cabbage, “Shin & Guinness” (classic Irish beef stew) and Bangers and Champ. Live entertainment on Thursday nights includes acoustic shows, comedy and rock bands, along with $3 draft specials.
The Dubliner is open Sunday-Thursday 12:00pm to 1:00am and Friday and Saturday from 12:00pm to 2:00am. Every day there is something going on at The Dubliner including trivia night, dance parties, and live entertainment! Call 860.862.5831 for more information.
