Treat Mom to dining, shopping and spa specials this Mother’s Day at Mohegan Sun

May 9th is almost here and Mohegan Sun plans on making Mother’s Day a memorable one with gourmet dining, Elemis Spa specials and exclusive discounts at Mom’s favorite Mohegan Sun shops. 

DINING OFFERINGS

Todd English’s Tuscany will prepare a three-course meal starting with Lobster Fegatini in Fennel Brown Butter. It’s followed by Pastrami-Rubbed Duck served over Porcini Dusted Potatoes and Roasted Cipollini Onions and then a Petit Rack of Lamb served with Spring Pea and Mint Risotto with Lamb Jus. Concluding the meal will be a signature Fallen Chocolate Cake. The special will be offered at $47.00 per person or $82.00 per person with wine pairings from 4:00pm to 10:00pm.

Birches Bar & Grill will offer a three-course meal starting with a choice of Soup Du Jour or a Garden Salad followed by Baked Seafood Stuffed Shrimp with Lemon Beurre Blanc Sauce served with Asparagus Spears and Wild Rice Pilaf. Lastly, a Raspberry Panna Cotta on a Cookie base with fresh Berries and Raspberry Coulis will be served for dessert. The meal will be offered at $25.95 per person from 10:00am to 3:30am.

At Big Bubba’s BBQ, a special dinner consisting of Prime Rib with a Twice Baked Potato plus an additional side will be prepared for $22.95 per person from 11:30am to 10:00pm.

Sunburst Buffet will offer a special brunch menu featuring items such as Creamy Gorgonzola Pasta Primavera, Pepperoni Frittata and Mussels with Lemon Grass Broth from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Dinner will be prepared from 2:00pm to 9:00pm and will feature an array of specialties including Gemelli with Bolognaise& Fresh Mozzarella, Tuscan Chicken with Broccoli & Penne and Swordfish with Tomato Vinaigrette. Both meals will be offered at $19.81 per person and $10.37 for children between the ages of six and twelve.

Special hours will be available at Bar Americain with dinner service from 2:00pm to 8:00pm,  and Pompeii & Caesar will offer a special brunch menu from 10:00am to 4:00pm.    

HOTEL & SPA SPECIALS

Elemis Spa will feature the Trail of Life Ritual package which includes an Ocean Warming Bath, a fifty-minute Swedish Massage, Visible Brilliance Facial, Exotic Hand Ritual, Sole Delight Pedicure, Frangipani Conditioning Hair and Scalp Ritual. The package includes a light lunch and is offered at $438.00.

At Citizen Watch, a box set special featuring a gold Citizen watch with a black dial and matching bracelet will be offered for $159.99.

New Year’s Eve celebrations at Mohegan Sun bring fun for everyone with a variety of live entertainment, free giveaways, dining specials and exclusive parties at Mohegan After Dark’s Night Club, bars and lounges.   

FREE GIVEAWAYS/CONCOURSE CELEBRATION

Mohegan Sun will kick off the night of celebration at 5:00pm as complementary top hats, tiaras and noisemakers are distributed Mohegan Sun’s coat check & valet locations throughout the property to all guests.  At 9:00pm the giveaways will also be available at Birches Bar & Grill, Leffingwells Martini Bar, Todd English’s Tuscany, the Wolf Den, Bar Americain, Mohegan Sun Arena and Mohegan Sun’s coat check & valet locations.

The center of excitement will be located in The Shops at Mohegan Sun where a disc jockey will spin the latest mainstream hits until 1:00am.   Cirque entertainers will perform jaw-dropping feats in various locations of The Shops concourse and a live feed of the annual ball drop in Times Square will project above the DJ booth.

ENTERTAINMENT

J. Geils Band returns to Connecticut for the first time in over ten years for a very special New Year’s Eve concert in Mohegan Sun Arena on December 31st, at 9:00pm.

Tickets for the J. Geils Band are available at the Mohegan Sun Box Office and through Ticketmaster.  Ticketmaster customers may log onto ticketmaster.com; call Ticketmaster’s national toll free Charge by Phone number 1.800.745.3000; or visit any Ticketmaster outlet.  Tickets may also be purchased at the Mohegan Sun Box Office, subject to availability.

In the Wolf Den, Nite Shift performs at 9:00pm and 11:00pm.  The Wolf Den is free and open to the public.  Arrive early for seating.  Must be 21 and over to attend.

Dining Specials-New Year’s Eve

Sunburst Buffet will serve a wide range of meals including a Steak Giambotta or Shrimp & Pesto Fettuccine.  Seasons Buffet will feature Roasted Turkey Breast, a Slow-Roasted Garlic & Shallot Crusted Prime Rib as well as an Herb-Roasted Pork Loin.  Desserts selections include Hot Caramel Apples, Bread Pudding and Fruit Cobbler.  Sunburst Buffet will be open from 11:00am – 12:00am and Seasons Buffet will be serving breakfast from 7:30am – 11:00am followed by lunch and dinner selections through 12:00am.    

Todd English’s Tuscany will offer a Chef’s Tasting Menu that starts out with Tuna Tartare; Crispy Rock Shrimp, Cucumber Salad with Sesame Dressing followed by Tuscan Misto (Surf & Turf) that features a 6-ounce Filet alongside a Butter-Poached Lobster and a side of Roquefort Mashed Potatoes topped with Celeriac Remoulade.  For dessert is a Signature Fallen Chocolate Cake with Tahitian Vanilla Gelato and Raspberry Purée.  This meal is offered at $47.00 per person.  Dinner will be served from 11:30am – 12:00am.

Birches Bar & Grill will serve a three-course meal special for New Year’s Eve that starts with a choice of Soup or Salad followed by Prime Rib Steak with Green Beans Provencal and Roasted Fingerling Potatoes or Baked Stuffed Shrimp with Asparagus, Rice Pilaf and Lemon Beurre Blanc.  This meal is offered at $39.95.  Birches Bar & Grill hours of operation will be from 11:30am – 3:30am on New Year’s Eve.  

Pompeii &Caesar, The Longhouse, Bamboo Forest and The Cove will all be closed for New Year’s Eve for a private event.

Dining Specials-New Year’s Day

Sunburst Buffet will have a special New Year’s Day Brunch serving Western Style Scrambled Eggs, Stuffed French Toast as well as Rigatoni with Seafood Bolognese, Honey Mustard Pork Loin and more.   Brunch hours will be from 9:00am – 2:00pm.  With dinner service to follow until 11:00pm.

On New Year’s Day, Pompeii & Caesar will offer their champagne brunch from10:00am – 2:30pm and will re-open to serve dinner from 5:00pm – 10:00pm. 

Birches Bar & Grill will open early at 9:00am, Friday, January 1st through Sunday, January 3rd.
