Country superstar becomes 31st performer to receive Mohegan Sun’s Walk of Fame star!

UNCASVILLE, CT (August 14, 2017) – On Friday, August 11th, Mohegan Sun honored Kenny Chesney with a long overdue Walk of Fame award. Taking place before his second back-to-back show, Chesney joins an exclusive list of entertainers who have stars lining the forecourt of the Mohegan Sun Box Office. Accepting the award, Chesney said, “Thank you so much for having me… We really do enjoy coming here and playing, it’s something we look forward to every year!”

“Kenny Chesney first played here in our Arena in 2008; and while it may be hard for many here today to imagine, following today’s sellout performance Kenny Chesney will have performed before nearly 10 sellout crowds at Mohegan Sun Arena – which is truly remarkable,” said Ray Pineault, President and General Manager of Mohegan Sun.

Kevin Brown, Chairman of the Mohegan Tribal Council, also mentioned, “Mohegan Sun Arena has been open for 15 years and over that 15 years we have accumulated enough shows, sellouts and great stars to become the 3rd best performing arena in the world right here at Mohegan Sun – all because of great fans, especially Country music fans like you folks.”

Kenny Chesney joins the likes of recently inducted Mohegan Sun Walk of Famers New Kids On The Block, Kevin Hart, Bob Seger, Mötley Crüe, Frankie Valli and so many more.

Mohegan Sun Arena is now ranked consistently among the top venues in the world according to Billboard Magazine, Pollstar and Venues Today. It has won “Casino of The Year” at the Country Music Awards in 2008 & 2010 and in 2013, was voted “Arena Of The Year” at the G2E Global Gaming Conference in Las Vegas.  Mohegan Sun Arena was also ranked among the top 10 arena venues in the nation for 2014, regardless of size. In 2015, Mohegan Sun took home the IEBA award for “Casino of the Year.”  Mohegan Sun also won “Casino of the Year” in 2 categories at the 2013 & 2016 Academy of Country Music Awards. Kenny Chesney’s Last Four Of 2017

Monday, April 10th, 2017

Final 2017 shows presented by Blue Chair Bay Rum on sale April 14th; 2 shows in the Northeast, 2 shows in the South

UNCASVILLE, CT (April 10, 2017) – With a second Gillette Stadium show added and close to sold-out, the hunger for that live Kenny Chesney summer experience is pronounced. Though there’s a handful of festival plays on the calendar for this year, Chesney announces four more intimate shows to round out his 2017 live schedule: Tuscaloosa Amphitheater on August 4th and The Wharf Amphitheatre in Orange Beach, AL on August 5th, followed by two nights at Mohegan Sun Arena on Thursday, August 10th and Friday, August 11th. Both Mohegan Sun shows are presented by Blue Chair Bay Rum and will begin at 7:30pm.

Tickets are $125.00 & $95.00 and go on sale Friday, April 14th at 10:00am through Ticketmaster.  Ticketmaster customers may log on to ticketmaster.com or call Ticketmaster’s national toll free Charge By Phone number 1.800.745.3000.  Tickets will also be available at the Mohegan Sun Box Office starting Saturday, April 15th, subject to availability.

“As long as we’re rehearsing and I’ve got new music in the pipeline, I can’t imagine not playing a little bit,” says Chesney. “I know that it takes time off to create and make records… to write and find songs like “American Kids” and “Noise,” but that doesn’t mean I don’t miss the fans. There is nothing that feeds me more than hearing the sound of the No Shoes Nation singing these songs, seeing those faces and knowing this is gonna be one of those nights.”

Having closed 2016’s Spread the Love Tour with 121,399 cheering New Englanders at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA, along with hitting the half-million mark at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey’s Meadowlands, Chesney had one of his biggest touring years – despite playing fewer dates than he has in previous years. As he says of those shows, “I can still hear the crowds when I close my eyes at night. Just when I think it can’t get any bigger or louder, the No Shoes Nation comes at me with these songs, singing and cheering and showing me how much life we can live in three minutes.”
