Singer/songwriter Rob Thomas has announced plans for a very special summer tour.  The dates benefits the Sidewalk Angels Foundation, the non-profit organization founded by Thomas and his wife Marisol to work hand-in-hand with charities across America to address social issues for humans and animals alike.  Thomas will be performing live at Mohegan Sun Arena on Tuesday, August 24th at 7:30pm.

The “Sidewalk Angels Foundation – Summer 2010 Tour” offers a rare and exciting opportunity to catch the multiple Grammy Award-winning superstar performing as a trio in more intimate settings than usual, playing a career-spanning set.  “It’s a chance for me, as a songwriter, to really highlight lyric and melody and to create different versions of songs that I’ve been playing for years,” says Thomas.  “We’ll be doing my solo stuff, Matchbox Twenty songs and covers. It will be a real ‘Storytellers’ kind of vibe.”

Rob Thomas is one of the most distinctive vocalists and accomplished songwriters in contemporary music, garnering a string of accolades – both for his work as lead singer and primary composer with Matchbox Twenty as well as for his solo work and collaborations with other artists.  In 2004, the Songwriters Hall of Fame presented Thomas with its first-ever “Starlight Award” – created to recognize a songwriter in the early years of his or her career that has already made a lasting impact.  He has won numerous BMI and ASCAP Awards, and has earned the “Songwriter of the Year” crown from both Billboard and BMI, two years in a row.

Thomas has written and performed a remarkable string of hits, including Matchbox Twenty’s #1-charting “Push,” “3AM,” “If You’re Gone,” “Bent,” “Disease” and “Unwell,” plus such favorites as “Real World,” “Back 2 Good,” “Mad Season” and “Bright Lights.”  His smash collaboration with Santana, the Thomas-penned “Smooth,” earned Rob three Grammy Awards and ranks #1 on Billboard’s Top Hot 100 Rock Songs chart and #2 on the magazine’s Hot 100 All-Time Top Songs.  He has also worked with the likes of Willie Nelson, Mick Jagger, Marc Anthony and Bernie Taupin.  Combining all of his projects, Thomas has contributed to sales of more than 80 million records.

Christina Aguilera’s Summer Tour Has Been Moved To 2011

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

Christina Aguilera’s summer tour has been moved to 2011 due to prior commitments that the singer had made to her film Burlesque and to the promotion of her new album Bionic. The singer felt she needed more time to rehearse the show and with less than a month between the album release and tour date, this wasn’t possible.

Refunds are available at point of purchase.
