Connecticut Idol Auditions Being Held At Mohegan Sun

Audition for a chance to be named the Connecticut Idol on July 26th at Mohegan Sun and win the opportunity to tryout in front of an American Idol producer

UNCASVILLE, CT - In collaboration with Fox 61 WTIC-TV, Mohegan Sun presents Connecticut Idol, where 250 contestants will be competing for the chance to audition in front of an American Idol producer . The auditions are being held on Monday, July 26th from 10:00am to 5:00pm in The Cabaret Theatre at Mohegan Sun. Upon completion of auditions, the winner will be announced between 5:30pm and 6:00pm in The Shops at Mohegan Sun concourse.

Contestants can register from 7:30am to 10:00am in front of The Cabaret Theatre. On-site registration is limited to the first 200 eligible contestants, with another 50 contestants being randomly pre-qualified through the online enter to win contest on ctnow.com. All eligible contestants must be between the ages of 15 to 28 years. Any contestant under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Contestants must be present to win during the announcement in The Shops concourse.

The Connecticut Authors Trail Returns To Mohegan Sun

Connecticut libraries will host a variety of local authors starting July 8th and capping off the tour at Mohegan Sun on September 23rd with Donald Bain

UNCASVILLE, CT (June 17, 2010) – Mohegan Sun has once again teamed up with the Connecticut Authors Trail and is set to cap off the great book signing tour on Thursday, September 23rd with acclaimed author of Murder, She Wrote, Donald Bain.  The Connecticut Authors Trail kicks-off with popular author Jane Haddam. Other library signing dates will feature remarkable authors like Pam Lewis, Douglas Clegg, Denise Gadreau, Susan Campbell, Christine Whitehead, Suzy Graf, Mark O’Neill and M. William Phelps.

Donald Bain’s book discussion will take place at 7:00pm in The Cabaret Theatre followed by a book signing.  Bain is the author/ ghost author of more than 100 books, many of which are best-sellers.  His prolific career began when Bain worked as a writer/director for Peckham Productions where he created films for clients like Avon, American Airlines, Pan Am and IBM.    His work includes both fiction and non-fiction including the popular series Murder,  She Wrote, which consists of 33 original novels.  His airline comedy book, Coffee Tea or Me?, was published nearly thirty years ago and together with its sequels has sold more than 5 million copies worldwide.  Bain also wrote and hosted the nationally-syndicated series The Media Watch. Bain’s appearance and signing at Mohegan Sun will be the final stop for the Connecticut Author’s Trail.

The Connecticut Authors Trail focuses on some of the state’s most brilliant authors and takes pride in bringing together a diverse collection of writers whose styles cover everything from suspense thrillers to romantic novels and self-help to local libraries across eastern Connecticut. All programs are free and open to the public. Passports will be available at the participating libraries throughout the summer as a guide to the author events. Have your passport stamped at each author event for a chance to qualify for an exclusive pre-program Meet & Greet with Donald Bain on Thursday, September 23rd in The Cabaret Theatre at Mohegan Sun.
