Best known as the lead singer of the multi-platinum selling Rock band Staind, Aaron Lewis is gearing up to release a solo effort made up of five Country tunes. The album, Town Line, is set to be released in February, with its first single “Country Boy” hitting airwaves on Tuesday, December 7th.
Country music comes naturally for Aaron Lewis. It’s something the Staind frontman grew up with. It’s something that he comes back to. It’s something that inspires him. It’s something that’s in his blood. Hints of that are present in the stripped honesty and acoustic melodies of Staind hits such as “Outside,” “It’s Been Awhile” and “So Far Away.”
Lewis fully shows that spirit on his forthcoming five-song CD Town Line–marking his debut solo release for Nashville-based Stroudavarious Records– and, most prevalently, on its first single and video, “Country Boy.” With a little help on both the single and video from legends George Jones and Charlie Daniels as well as critically-acclaimed new traditionalist Chris Young, Lewis tells his story like never before on the song. The video is set to premiere Wednesday, December 1st at CMT.com and then will have its on-air premiere on CMT Monday, December 6th. The “Country Boy” single will be available Tuesday, December 7th at iTunes and all other digital retailers.
“Country Boy” serves as a fitting introduction to Town Line, which hits shelves in February. Lewis’ voice carries a catchy chorus over a slide guitar, and he opens up in this personal manifesto about his past, present, and future. Featuring a fiery fiddle lead from Daniels, a booming verse from Jones and Young’s lilting harmonies, “Country Boy” strikes a balance between classic and modern country.
Mohegan Sun Arena was ranked the 4th busiest venue in 2009 by Billboard Magazine and was the 2008 recipient of a Country Music Award for “Casino of The Year.” For more information on concerts and other great events at Mohegan Sun, visit mohegansun.com.
