are all set to headline at Mohegan Sun
UNCASVILLE, CT (December 11, 2008) – Mohegan Sun heats up as the weather cools down with some of the best entertainment headed into the Arena, Cabaret Theatre and Wolf Den. Don’t miss your chance to see some of your favorite performers this holiday season at Mohegan Sun.
Christmas comes early on Friday, December 19th, when Kenny Rogers rolls into the Arena with his “Christmas & Hits Tour.” This show is a must for anyone wanting to see this Country music icon perform some of his most memorable hits as well as some holiday favorites. Roger’s latest album Water & Bridges has won “Album of the Year” at the CMT Music Awards, and he is also the well-deserved recipient of The Country Radio Broadcasters’ “Career Achievement Award.” The show starts at 8:00pm on December 19th; tickets are $35.00 and are on sale now.
The holiday spirit stays alive in The Cabaret Theatre when Wayne, Jay and Merrill Osmond take the stage for The Osmond Brothers Christmas Show live Friday, December 19th through Sunday, December 21st. Friday and Saturday’s shows begin at 8:00pm and Sunday’s show begins at 7:00pm. Tickets for the show are $50.00 and are on sale now.
Also scheduled to entertain in the beautiful Cabaret Theatre is none other than icon of the stage and screen, actor, singer, dancer and Broadway legend Ben Vereen. Performances are on Friday, December 26th and Saturday, December 27th. Both shows begin at 8:00pm and are $40.00.
Kathleen Madigan will be performing in The Cabaret Theatre for a special two- show performance on New Year’s Eve. Tickets for the 8:00pm performance are $40.00 and tickets for the 11:00pm show are $75.00. The 11:00pm performance will include party favors and a champagne toast to help celebrate ringing in the New Year. If comedy isn’t your thing and the classic hits of the 70s and 80s are, then plan on having a ball with legendary Rock group Daryl Hall & John Oates when they perform in the Arena the same night for an exciting New Year’s Eve concert at 8:00pm.
Feel the rhythms and dance in the New Year when Mohegan Sun Wolf Den mainstays Boogie Wonder Band bring their Soul Funk grooves to the free music venue on New Year’s Eve. The fun is scheduled to kick off at 7:00pm followed by another performance at 11:00pm.
Brothers Damien and Tourie Escobar make up the sensational music duo known as Nuttin’ But Stringz. Their amazing and inspirational violin playing that blends Classical music, Jazz, R&B and Hip Hop helped land them a second place finish on the popular NBC series America’s Got Talent. The teenage brothers who studied at the Julliard School of Music have brought their infectious and vibrant sound to the likes of The Apollo Theater, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Ellen Degeneres Show and on January 1st plan to resonate the Wolf Den with a thrilling performance beginning at 8:00pm.

Legendary supergroup Fleetwood Mac will be embarking on their first concert tour in five years and will be playing Mohegan Sun Arena on Saturday, March 14th at 8:00pm.

Dark Horse, Nickelback’s sixth studio album, hit the streets last month and debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 chart. The band’s previous release, 2005’s All the Right Reasons, topped the US album chart, spent 112 consecutive weeks in the Top 30 and has sold more than 11 million copies worldwide. Their latest single, “Gotta Be Somebody,” has been making waves across a number of radio formats, including Pop, Modern Rock, Mainstream Rock and Adult.
South-African Rock band Seether is touring in support of their latest studio effort, 2007’s Finding Beauty in Negative Spaces. The album, which follows 2005’s gold-certified Karma and Effect, reached #9 on the Billboard 200. The band also released a live, acoustic set, One Cold Night, in 2006.
Saving Abel just released their self-titled, major label debut album in March. The album features the single “Addicted” which peaked at #2 on the US Mainstream Rock chart. As of November 2008, Saving Abel’s self-titled album has sold over 222,858 copies and peaked at #53 on the Billboard 200.

Hilarious stand-up comedian is back at Mohegan Sun Arena on December 30th

Funny man and star of the hit CBS comedy The King of Queens, Kevin James is a must-see stand-up comedian. America has come to love him for his “everyman” portrayal as Doug Heffernan in this hilarious television series. In 2001 James starred in Sweat the Small Stuff, a one-hour stand-up special for Comedy Central. In 2007 he starred opposite Adam Sandler in the hit comedy I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry. The Emmy Award nominee recently finished shooting the film Paul Blart: Mall Cop to be released in January 2009 for Columbia Pictures.
