Country music’s most popular touring act is on the road again in 2009 and is stopping at Mohegan Sun Arena for two performances. Kenny Chesney and special guests Miranda Lambert and Lady Antebellum will take the Arena stage on Friday, April 17th and Saturday, April 18th. Both shows begin at 8:00pm.
Tickets are $125.00, $110.00 and $95.00 and go on sale Friday, January 16th at 10:00am through Ticketmaster. Kenny Chesney is touring in support of his latest studio effort, 2008’s Lucky Old Sun, which saw its first single “Everybody Wants to Go to Heaven” become a #1 hit on Billboard’s Hot Country music chart. According to Billboard and Pollstar magazine, over the last three years, no one in the music industry has sold more concert tickets in America than the 40-year-old singer. Chesney teamed up with Mac McAnally on the track “Down The Road,” currently ranked #9 on the USA Today Mediabase Country singles chart.
Miranda Lambert exploded on to the Country music scene with her 2005 album Kerosene. The album was certified platinum and produced four Top 40 hits on Billboards Hot Country Songs chart. Her follow-up effort, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, won ACM’s “Album of the Year” for 2008.
Lady Antebellum, who won the 2008 CMA Horizon Award and the 2008 ACM “Best New Duo/Group” award, and who performed in the Wolf Den in October, will kick off both shows. Comprised of lead singer Charles Kelley, vocalist/guitarist/mandolinist Dave Haywood and lead singer Hillary Scott, the trio also earned a Grammy nomination for “Best New Artist.”

Celebrating Club/Dance music live on Saturday, February 21st
Mohegan Sun Arena will once again host the top talents of Freestyle Dance music when Freestyle Extravaganza IV takes over on Saturday, February 21st at 8:00pm.

The 2008 Freestyle show brought together some of the best-remembered and most loved Dance music of the 80s, and the 2009 edition continues the revival. Born in the club scene of New York City during the end of the Disco era, Freestyle went on to capture a generation with its irresistible beats and marked the start of the Hip-Hop sound.
Performers include Sisqó, with hit songs like “Thong Song” and “Incomplete,” CeCe Penniston with “Finally” and K7/TKA is in the lineup with their hit song “Scars of Love.” C+C Music Factory featuring Freedom Williams will perform “Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)” and The Cover Girls perform “Show Me” and “Wishing On A Star.” George Lamond performs the hit song “Bad of the Heart” and Fascination are sure to bring “Why You Wanna Go” to the Arena stage. Manic Monday dance party in the Wolf Den begins in January
Mohegan Sun’s Wolf Den will be Southeastern Connecticut’s newest place to see and be seen on Monday nights when DJ Mike takes the stage to spin all your favorite classic hits. Beginning at 8:00pm on Monday, January 5th patrons will have the opportunity to get their week started right by cutting the rug on Monday nights in the Wolf Den. Admission to DJ in the Den is free, but all patrons must be 21 or over.
DJ Mike got his start as a DJ in 1992, about 1,600 gigs ago. He honed his skills in downtown Hartford at one of Connecticut’s largest and most successful nightclubs, The Brickyard. For over seven years he performed to crowds of over 600 people a night, and to over 6000 people at the annual outdoor Hartford Block Parties. With a vast music knowledge that is second to none, DJ Mike has amassed a song collection that spans from the 50’s to today’s current Top 40. But more importantly, knowing what to play for all generations and all settings is what has made him one of the most sought-after DJ’s in not only the areas top clubs, but at all the top banquet facilities in New England.

Due to overwhelming demand, Britney Spears with special guest the Pussycat Dolls adds a second show date in Mohegan Sun Arena. The Circus Starring Britney Spears 2009 Tour will be live in Mohegan Sun on Saturday, May 2nd at 8:00pm.
