Boston rockers will perform live in the Arena on March 13th
Kick-off your St. Patrick’s Day celebration early in 2011 with Dropkick Murphys, the Boston-based Irish-Punk outfit best known for the hit single “I’m Shipping Up To Boston,” which was featured in Martin Scorsese’s Academy Award-winning film, The Departed. They will be performing live at Mohegan Sun Arena on Sunday, March 13th at 7:00pm with special guest Against Me!.
Tickets are $24.50 and go on sale Saturday, December 18th at 10:00am through Ticketmaster. Ticketmaster customers may log on to ticketmaster.com; call Ticketmaster’s national toll free Charge by Phone number 1.800.745.3000 or visit any Ticketmaster outlet. Tickets will also be available at the Mohegan Sun Box Office beginning on Sunday, December 19th, subject to availability.
From meager beginnings playing all-ages matinees at now-defunct Boston clubs to a prominent placement in Martin Scorsese’s Academy Award-winning film, The Departed, the Dropkick Murphys have evolved over the past decade into one of the most beloved punk-inspired bands in the world. Now, with The Meanest Of Times, their sixth studio album of spirited, cathartic and heartfelt anthems, the oft-cherished seven-piece outfit has also launched its own record label, Born & Bred Records, as a means to bring new DKM music to the world while assuming full control of their destiny. As evidenced by the explosive, uncompromising and downright brilliant album-opener, “Famous For Nothing” and the set bowing, optimistic roar of “Never Forget,” The Meanest Of Times is book-ended in top form and captures among its fifteen tracks what founding bassist Ken Casey calls “themes of childhood, growing up and family.” “Growing up, I saw my share of hard times,” Casey says. “I think a lot of us did. But looking back on it, I wouldn’t trade them for anything, because those hard times made us all who we are today.” “To me, the record is a celebration of life,” frontman Al Barr adds. “It’s about redemption. It’s about coming up in the world and the way it shapes you. It’s about not taking your family and friends for granted and it’s about living in the moment. The cover is a bunch of Catholic School kids messing around and looking angry on the playground. And if you think back to your elementary and high school years, in a lot of ways, they sometimes really were the meanest of times.”
Mohegan Sun Arena was ranked the 4th busiest venue in 2009 by Billboard Magazine and was the 2008 recipient of a Country Music Award for “Casino of The Year.” For more information on concerts and other great events at Mohegan Sun, visit mohegansun.com. Staind frontman will perform live at Mohegan Sun on January 15th
Aaron Lewis, lead singer of the multi-platinum selling band Staind, is returning to Mohegan Sun for a solo acoustic performance in the Arena. The performance is scheduled for Saturday, January 15th at 8:00pm.
Tickets are $35.00 and go on sale Friday, December 3rd at 10:00am through Ticketmaster. Ticketmaster customers may log on to ticketmaster.com; call Ticketmaster’s national toll free Charge by Phone number 1.800.745.3000 or visit any Ticketmaster outlet. Tickets will also be available at the Mohegan Sun Box Office beginning on Saturday, December 4th, subject to availability.
Best known as the lead singer of the multi-platinum selling Rock band Staind, Aaron Lewis is gearing up to release a solo effort made up of five Country tunes. The album, Town Line, is set to be released in February, with its first single “Country Boy” hitting airwaves on Tuesday, December 7th.
Country music comes naturally for Aaron Lewis. It’s something the Staind frontman grew up with. It’s something that he comes back to. It’s something that inspires him. It’s something that’s in his blood. Hints of that are present in the stripped honesty and acoustic melodies of Staind hits such as “Outside,” “It’s Been Awhile” and “So Far Away.”
Lewis fully shows that spirit on his forthcoming five-song CD Town Line–marking his debut solo release for Nashville-based Stroudavarious Records– and, most prevalently, on its first single and video, “Country Boy.” With a little help on both the single and video from legends George Jones and Charlie Daniels as well as critically-acclaimed new traditionalist Chris Young, Lewis tells his story like never before on the song. The video is set to premiere Wednesday, December 1st at CMT.com and then will have its on-air premiere on CMT Monday, December 6th. The “Country Boy” single will be available Tuesday, December 7th at iTunes and all other digital retailers.
“Country Boy” serves as a fitting introduction to Town Line, which hits shelves in February. Lewis’ voice carries a catchy chorus over a slide guitar, and he opens up in this personal manifesto about his past, present, and future. Featuring a fiery fiddle lead from Daniels, a booming verse from Jones and Young’s lilting harmonies, “Country Boy” strikes a balance between classic and modern country.

Headliners Disturbed & Korn perform live in the Arena on January 28th with special guests Sevendust & In This Moment.
In what promises to be the hottest tour of winter 2011, Disturbed & Korn, two of Rock’s biggest acts, are teaming up to co-headline this year’s Monster Energy Music As A Weapon 5 Tour. The tour will be stopping by Mohegan Sun for a performance in the Arena on Friday, January 28th at 7:30pm with special guests Sevendust & In This Moment.
Tickets are $39.50 (with a $5.00 discount on the first 200 tickets purchased) and go on sale Saturday, December 4th at 10:00am through Ticketmaster. Ticketmaster customers may log on to ticketmaster.com; call Ticketmaster’s national toll free Charge by Phone number 1.800.745.3000 or visit any Ticketmaster outlet. Tickets will also be available at the Mohegan Sun Box Office beginning on Sunday, December 5th, subject to availability.
Jonathan Davis of Korn and David Draiman of Disturbed on how the fourty-five city trek across America came about:
“We’ve both just finished great tours. We headlined Mayhem and Disturbed headlined Uproar. The Disturbed guys came out to see us play in Chicago and we got to talking about doing something together. We both agreed that as cool as those types of tours are, they usually only hit major markets, and we both agreed that a lot of our fans just don’t live in those cities, so we thought it would be cool to team up, put a big show together, and hit every great place that those big tours never get to. Besides all that, with us and Disturbed together, doing full shows with full production…all I can say is IT’S ON!”, said the excited Korn frontman.
“We are thrilled to launch the Monster Energy Music As A Weapon 5 Tour with our good friends from Korn,” says Disturbed’s singer David Draiman. “Every year we try to up the ante, and this year, by having Korn co-headline, we really think it’s going to be our best tour yet. When the idea first came up, one of the main things both bands agreed upon and wanted to focus on was hitting a lot of smaller markets. It’s exciting to bring a show like this to cities that are usually skipped over on some of the other larger Rock tours that only hit the major markets. We have a lot of loyal fans in these cities and we wanted to bring them a show that they deserve.”
On August 31, 2010, Disturbed released their fifth studio album Asylum, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard album chart. Asylum is the band’s fourth consecutive studio album to debut at #1, a feat achieved by only two other Rock groups in history: Metallica and the Dave Matthews Band. An international hit with Top 10 chart bows across the globe, Asylum has earned critical praise from USA Today, which called it “a tight, sharp-riffed ride…the combo of aggressive roar and guitar grace recalls Metallica’s finest moments,” and the New York Daily News, which declared “On Asylum, Disturbed finely weighs power and delicacy, catchiness and punch. The subtle variety of the band’s tunesmanship, and the buoyancy of their rhythms, that makes this hard group so easy to love.”
Over the last sixteen years, Korn have established themselves as one of the biggest bands in the history of Hard Rock and Metal, selling over thirty million albums worldwide. Their latest album, Korn III: Remember Who You Are, on RoadRunner Records, debuted at #2 on the Billboard charts this year, where Metal Hammer said fans would be “wiping away tears of recognition and delight when they blast it for the first, second, and 38th time.”
