The Ghosts of Christmas Eve Comes to Mohegan Sun Arena on Sunday November 25th
UNCASVILLE, CT (September 7, 2018) – Marking the band’s 20th consecutive year of touring, Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO) announced its highly – anticipated Winter Tour 2018. TSO’s annual multi – sensory extravaganza, which sells out venues year after year, has cemented the group’s status as a must – attend, multi – generational, holiday tradition. This year’s 20th anniversary tour, a presentation of TSO’s unforgettable The Ghosts of Christmas Eve, featuring founder/composer/lyricist Paul O’Neill’s timeless story of a runaway who finds her way into a mysterious abandoned theater, will visit 65 cities across North America, returning to Mohegan Sun Arena for two shows on Sunday, November 25th at 3:00pm and 8:00pm. TSO’s Winter Tour 2018 is presented by Hallmark Channel.

This year’s tour will include new awe – inspiring effects, as well as amazing staging with an all new design from the dedicated team handpicked by the group’s late creator, Paul O’Neill. The rock opera also features such enduring fan – favorites as “Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24,” “O’ Come All Ye Faithful,” “Good King Joy,” “Christmas Canon,” “Music Box Blues,” “Promises To Keep,” and “This Christmas Day.” Additionally, the tour will enjoy a new second set containing some of TSO’s greatest hits and fan – pleasers.
As in all previous years, a portion of every ticket sold benefits select local charities. To date, more than $15 million has been distributed from TSO to worthy charities all across North America.
On September 28th, Rhino Entertainment will release a 20th Anniversary Edition of The Christmas Attic on CD and digitally. A vinyl version of the release will be available November 23rd. The second installment in The Christmas Trilogy tells the story of a little girl who spends the night in an attic filled with yuletide reveries, while guitar solos and choral vocals soar over a rock orchestral backing across 16 tracks, including a previously unreleased on CD and vinyl version of “Christmas Jam (Live).”
Mohegan Sun Arena is now ranked consistently among the top venues in the world according to Billboard Magazine, Pollstar and Venues Today. It has won “Casino of The Year” at the Country Music Awards in 2008 & 2010 and in 2013, was voted “Arena Of The Year” at the G2E Global Gaming Conference in Las Vegas. Mohegan Sun is excited to announce that for Prince’s trio of performances taking place later this month in Mohegan Sun Arena, two incredible talents have been added to the bill. For the Friday, December 27th and Saturday, December 28th concerts, Grammy Award winning Jazz musician Esperanza Spalding will be the special guest. For the Sunday, December 29th show, the amazingly talented Janelle Monáe will be joining Prince as support.

Monáe has worked with Prince on her critically-acclaimed album The Electric Lady and opened for him on his 2011 tour, Welcome 2 America. The classic holiday ballet comes to the Arena on Saturday, December 11th and Sunday, December 12th
Joseph Albano and The Albano Ballet Company will bring back their production of the Christmas classic The Nutcracker to Mohegan Sun Arena on Saturday, December 11th and Sunday, December 12th. Saturday’s performance begins at 7:00pm and Sunday’s begins at 2:00pm.

The Albano Ballet Company production of The Nutcracker is a holiday favorite at Mohegan Sun, thrilling audiences old, young and in-between. Accompanied by a live chorale and orchestra under the baton of Maestro Daniel Lee, Albano’s traditional version touts an international cast with dancers from Italy, Japan and the United States. Starring in this year’s cast is Ritsuko Sato from Japan as the Sugar Plum Fairy and Marcello Algeri from Italy as the Cavalier Prince. Kerryanne Saunders, a 13 year veteran with the company, dances the Snow Queen partnered with Eric Carnes, a 21 year old sensational talent trained in the Albano Ballet Academy Syllabus.
The story of the Nutcracker embraces Christmas and its symbolic tree that grows to huge proportions, giant mice with blinking eyes and an exploding cannon are part of the dazzling stage theatrics. Choreography and costumes are by Joseph Albano, with the assistance of Julia Frederick.
