The holiday season is officially here and, once again, Mohegan Sun is a one-stop destination for shopping, dining and entertainment.  With over 75 retail outlets, restaurants and bars, 3 award-winning entertainment venues, a luxury hotel and world-class spa, there is something for everyone. Guests can take advantage of special holiday discounts and promotions at several of the retailers, or catch some exciting entertainment.
SHOPPING
Now a regular retail outlet at Mohegan Sun, The Toy Basket offers some great holiday shopping items for children of many ages.  Barbie’s Color Change Mermaid, Lego Watches and Clocks, Madame Alexander Dolls and even plush toys and accessories from the popular Angry Birds game are all available, in addition to much more.

DINING
Michael Jordan’s Steak House will be taking care of Christmas Eve and Day dinner with a special dish featuring a Rack of Wild Boar with Spiced Huckleberry Jam and Honey Roasted Sweet Potato Purée.  This meal is priced at $42.00 per person.
Michael Jordan’s 23.sportcafe will also be serving up Christmas dishes on both December 24th and 25th.  The special will be Pork Tenderloin and Brussels Sprouts with Smoked Bacon.  This meal is priced at $28.00 per person and also comes with Apple and Pecan Bread Pudding for dessert.
In the month of December, in celebration of the big holiday, Ben & Jerry’s will be offering a Holiday Gift Basket with a choice of two T-shirts, two coffee mugs and two chocolate packs all for $50.00.  Guests can also receive a small Ice Cream Special with the purchase of any T-shirt.
ENTERTAINMENT
Mohegan Sun will feature some fantastic performances in all three venues this holiday season.  Below is a lineup of upcoming performances.
Mohegan Sun Arena

  • Friday, December 9th at 7:00pm and Saturday, December 10th at 7:00pm: A Mohegan Sun Holiday Marvels Classic – Albano’s Nutcracker.  Tickets are $33.00 & $23.00 with special discounts for seniors and children twelve & under.
  • Saturday, December 17th at 8:00pm: Ms. Lauryn Hill will be on hand for a very special Arena show.  Tickets are $78.00 & $58.00 and are on sale now.
  • Tuesday, December 27th at 7:00pm: The Harlem Globetrotters make their way to Uncasville once again.  Tickets are $72.00, $50.00, $30.00, $25.00 & $19.00.
  • Friday, December 30th at 8:00pm: Rob Thomas will be performing a special intimate concert benefiting the Sidewalk Angels Foundation.  Tickets are $35.00.
  • Saturday, December 31st at 8:00pm: the hugely popular stand-Up comedian and actor Kevin Hart rings in the New Year with his Let Me Explain show.  Tickets are $50.00.


The Cabaret Theatre

  • Saturday, December 17th at 9:00pm: Treehouse Comedy Productions presents Dan Wilson featuring Vincent McElhone with special guest Rubi Nicholas.  Tickets are $20.00.
  • On New Year’s Eve, “The Funnist NYE Party in Connecticut” will bring Laugh-In 2012 starring Joey Kola featuring Carie Karavas and Billy Winn to the Cabaret Theatre for two shows, first at 8:00pm followed by another at 10:15pm.  Tickets for this great night of comedy go on sale Wednesday, November 23rd at 10:00am.

Wolf Den

  • On Saturday, December 3rd at 8:00pm the Wolf Den will feature A Peter White Christmas, where guitarist Peter White will perform his smooth Jazz music with some holiday selections mixed in.

  • And on Sunday, December 11th at 7:00pm: December People bring their holiday music to Mohegan Sun’s Wolf Den.
  • On Wednesday, December 21st at 7:00pm, up-and-coming Country talent and Connecticut’s own Nicole Frechette will be performing in the Wolf Den.
  • Friday, December 23rd at 8:00pm: celebrate good times with Ronnie Spector’s Best Christmas Ever.
  • And on Christmas Day, the popular band Eight To The Bar will be performing at 7:00pm.

The Wolf Den Takes You Back
Mohegan Sun’s Wolf Den will feature special acts that will take you back with two mid-day performances on select Mondays throughout May & June taking place from noon to 12:45pm and 1:15pm to 2:00pm.
The Main Street Cruisers will play a wide selection of Rock & Roll hits from the 50s and 60s on May 3rd.  On May 10th, Rick K. and the Allnighters will take their classic Rock & Roll show to the Wolf Den stage.  On May 17th, Phil Dirt & the Dozers will play their vintage Rock & Roll oldies.  The Bronx Wanderers head into town on May 24th with a full set list of Pop and Rock & Roll songs of yesterday mixed with a new twist for today.  Connecticut’s own, very popular and cross genre band The Cartells will be performing their Jazz, Swing, R&B and Pop in the Wolf Den on June 7th.  Jazz band Eight To The Bar, which was just named “Best Live Band 2010” by Hartford Magazine, hits the stage on June 14th .  And capping off Forever Young Mondays Wolf Den performances on June 21st will be The Glamour Girls playing a variety of hits from the 50s through 70s.

Hit The Slots…Tournament Style
