Mohegan Tribe Partners with State Department of Public Health and Local Health Community Centers to Host Vaccination Clinics
Mohegan Sun, Griffin Health, and Uncas Health District to begin vaccination clinics at the casino on Wednesday

UNCASVILLE, CT (December 14, 2021) — In their continued efforts to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, the Mohegan Tribe is partnering with the Connecticut Department of Public Health, Griffin Health, and the Uncas Health District to host free vaccination clinics for Connecticut residents. The clinics are beginning as Connecticut’s daily COVID positivity figures have once again topped eight percent, and the state has now reported multiple cases of the Omicron variant.

The walk-in clinics will take place every Wednesday starting December 15 through January 5, 2022, from 10:00am to 4:00pm at Mohegan Sun’s Seasons Buffet in Casino of the Earth. On Monday, December 20 from 9:30am to 12:30pm, Uncas Health District will host their clinic at the Seasons Buffet. Primary shots and boosters will be available to all eligible age groups.

Governor Lamont and state health officials have been consistent in urging residents to get the vaccine and to receive their booster shot if more than six months have passed since their first two doses. The Department of Health reported those who remain unvaccinated are five times more likely to test positive for COVID-19 and have a 16 times greater risk of dying of the disease.

“Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Mohegan Tribe has worked to positively impact the health of not only our Tribal members, but our Connecticut neighbors as well,” said James Gessner Jr., Chairman of the Mohegan Tribe. “Those efforts have included extensive health and safety measures for our employees and guests, as well as key partnerships to help improve access to COVID testing and vaccines. These new clinics with the State of Connecticut, Griffin Health, and the Uncas Health District are another important step in that work.”
