Mohegan Sun’s Could you use some Sun?TM campaign has been selected among the top advertising campaigns in both the gaming industry by the American Gaming Association and the travel and tourism industry by Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International.

The campaign, which launched in March of 2008 includes three new television commercials based on the songs Super Freak by Rick James, Hold the Line by Toto, and My Sharona by The Knack, and two radio commercials to the tunes of Sweet Home Alabama by Lynyrd Skynyrd and Walk Like an Egyptian by The Bangles. The campaign has also been incorporated into billboards, newspaper and digital advertising as well as on mohegansun.com.

The award-winning television campaign is part of Mohegan Sun’s over $20 million marketing effort to continually attract new visitors to Mohegan Sun and the Mystic Country region, and was created in partnership with Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners of New York.  It replaces Mohegan Sun’s Monologues campaign, which ran for over two years.

The campaign received the following top honors from the American Gaming Association Communication Awards:  “Best TV Advertising” for My Mohegan, and “Best Radio Advertising” for Sweet Home Mohegan.

In the travel and tourism industry, from the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International’s (HSMAI) Adrian Awards, Mohegan Sun was awarded: the Gold Award for “Best TV Spot” for At the Sun, which will be advanced to Platinum Award judging this month; Bronze for “Best TV Spot” for My Mohegan and Bronze for “Best Radio Spot” for Sweet Home Mohegan.
