Deployment of Advanced Technologies Highlights Mohegan Sun’s Commitment to Providing Slot Players the Newest Gaming Products and Sets Stage for Upcoming Entertainment-Enhancing Applications

Mohegan Sun, one of the largest, distinctive and spectacular entertainment, gaming, shopping and meeting destinations in the United States, has introduced new server-based, networked technology that offers entertainment-enhancing features for players at its flagship Connecticut facility.  Located in Casino of the Wind, the new WAGE-NET® (Wide Area Game Enhanced Network) system supplied by WMS Gaming Inc., a subsidiary of WMS Industries Inc. (NYSE:WMS), offers state-of-the-art technology that gives players increased access to game content and flexible betting configurations, the first of such to hit the East Coast.
The new installations mark the latest deployment of WMS’ WAGE-NET system with Remote Configuration and Download (“RCD”) technology capabilities and underscores Mohegan Sun’s long-term commitment and investments in offering the newest and most innovative gaming entertainment products to its customers.
“Mohegan Sun continues to set trends by offering players the best-in-class levels of gaming entertainment,” said Frank Neborsky, Vice President of Slot Operations for Mohegan Sun. “WMS has been a long-term partner in this initiative and has developed an innovative solution allowing us to offer in-demand content when players want it and we are very pleased to be the first casino on the East Coast to make this capability available to customers.”
By offering slot machines with these advanced technologies, Mohegan Sun has the flexibility to change specific game themes thereby benefiting slot players through increased availability of the games they want to play when they want to play them.  The new WAGE-NET enabled games at Mohegan Sun, which are in WMS’ popular, networked-enabled Bluebird®2 gaming cabinet, feature several of the industry’s most popular multi-line, multi-coin video gaming titles such as Zeus™, Lucky Penny™, Hot Hot Super Respin™ and Crystal Forest®.
“With an unyielding focus on Player Driven Innovation™, WMS is consistently leading the industry in the development and advancement of networked gaming system technologies and applications,” said Orrin J. Edidin, President of WMS. “With their commitment to networked gaming, Mohegan Sun is an ideal partner to work with in furthering RCD technology on WMS gaming machines, and for new bonus and game applications in the future.  Our goals are focused on creating technologies and applications that benefit players with higher levels of entertainment.  Mohegan Sun represents another milestone in bringing exciting new gaming experiences to players.”
This latest deployment of WAGE-NET also sets the stage for Mohegan Sun to offer WMS’ future network-enabled “Portal” applications, such as mystery triggered multi-level progressive bonusing features, on any network-enabled WMS gaming device on the casino slot floor.  These player-centric networked gaming offerings utilize advanced technologies and platforms to deliver new content that creates dynamic entertainment experiences for slot players.
