Season seven American Idol finalist to take the stage in The Shops at Mohegan Sun on October 14th
Mohegan Sun’s Reality Check is excited to announce that singer/songwriter and Atlantic Records recording artist, Jason Castro, will be taking part in a special free performance on October 14th at 7:00pm in The Cabaret Theatre followed by an autograph signing in The Shops at Mohegan Sun. Jason will be signing copies of his recently released self-titled debut album which will be available for purchase prior to and on the day of this event.

Jason Castro won over millions of viewers as a contestant on the seventh season of the hit reality show American Idol. Castro, a singer/songwriter and guitarist, released his debut self-titled album through Atlantic Records earlier this year which featured the singles “Let’s Just Fall In Love Again,” “That’s What I’m Here For” and “This Heart Of Mine,” and received much critical acclaim. The CD also features Castro’s amazing cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah,” which he also performed on American Idol and served as a huge force in Castro’s rising national popularity. His debut album entered the Billboard Digital Album Chart at #7 in the U.S. and his first single, “Let’s Just Fall In Love Again” went to #1 in several countries overseas.

Comedienne will deliver stand-up act in the Arena on December 31st
Talk show host, author and stand-up comedian Chelsea Handler has announced plans to return to Mohegan Sun Arena for a very special New Year’s Eve performance on Friday, December 31st at 8:00pm with special guest Sarah Colonna.

Longtime Mohegan Sun performer adds his name to the Walk of Fame
Mohegan Sun is pleased to announce that Tony Orlando, one of the most renowned entertainers, has be
en inducted into Mohegan Sun’s Walk of Fame. This places Tony among an elite group of entertainers with stars in front of Mohegan Sun Arena. His induction took place Saturday, September 11th in The Shops concourse in front of a large crowd of faithful fans. Tony Orlando is the 21st star to be inducted into Mohegan Sun’s Walk of Fame. Orlando was extremely honored and gracious as he accepted his star on the Walk of Fame and said to fans, “Mohegan Sun has been the most beautiful, finest and wonderful place to work in show business.”
Tony Orlando hit superstardom when he formed the Pop group Dawn with Telma Hopkins and Joyce Vincent Wilson. Their first big hit was the timeless “Tie A Yellow Ribbon (Round The Ole Oak Tree),” followed by classics like “Knock Three Times” and “Candida.” Throughout his prolific and versatile career, Tony has had five #1 hits, sold millions of records and has even starred in a Broadway show.
