Take Fundraising to New Heights During This One-of-a-Kind Rappelling Event on August 28th
UNCASVILLE, CT (July 16, 2026) – Registration is open for Special Olympics Connecticut’s Over the Edge fundraiser, hosted by Mohegan Sun, which will take place on Friday, August 28th. Participants are invited to take fundraising to new heights by rappelling more than 30 stories down Mohegan Sun’s iconic Sky Tower in support of year-round sports, health and fitness programs for nearly 14,000 athletes of all abilities across Connecticut. Whether making the descent or cheering from below, guests will be part of a one-of-a-kind event that brings courage, community and inclusion together in a bold way. Over the Edge annually draws participants from local businesses and corporations, community organizations, law enforcement agencies and schools, and is open to all. Several Special Olympics athletes are also expected to rappel again this year. Through online fundraising, participants must raise a minimum of $1,250 to rappel; however, no experience is necessary. Each participant will be fitted with safety gear, trained and guided through the experience. Hosted at one of the country’s premier entertainment, gaming, dining and resort destinations, Over the Edge offers participants a unique perspective of Mohegan Sun while supporting a meaningful cause. This open-air celebration blends live music, dance, and vibrant energy into one unforgettable night for guests of all ages.
The night comes alive with a dynamic lineup of entertainment, headlined by Badder Bunny, the definitive Bad Bunny tribute show delivering an electrifying homage to one of Latin music’s biggest global stars. The evening will also feature live salsa music from Sabor Latino, plus interactive salsa dancing lessons led by Willie Rios of Willie’s Salsa Euphoria, giving guests of all skill levels a chance to hit the dance floor.
