Country superstar Keith Urban, renowned for his critically-acclaimed live concerts, has announced dates for his “Get Closer 2011 World Tour.”  The tour, with very special guest Jake Owen, is expected to make over 50 stops across North America, and will make its way to Uncasville, CT for a performance in Mohegan Sun Arena on Saturday, July 9th at 7:30pm.
Tickets are $85.00 & $65.00 and go on sale Saturday, February 12th at 10:00am through Ticketmaster.  Ticketmaster customers may log on to ticketmaster.com; call Ticketmaster’s national toll free Charge by Phone number 1.800.745.3000 or visit any Ticketmaster outlet.  Tickets will also be available at the Mohegan Sun Box Office beginning on Sunday, February 13th, subject to availability.

Critics have hailed Urban’s shows, calling them “one of the best reasons in the world to attend a live concert.”  They’ve said that fans would be “hard-pressed to find a better Country – or Rock – show anywhere.”  Urban’s catalogue of hits; “Better Life,” “Somebody Like You,” “Days Go By,” “You’ll Think Of Me,” “Sweet Thing” and his latest, “Put You In A Song,” combined with an all-new production will give his fans a unique concert experience that has earned Urban a reputation as one of music’s best live performers.

The tour comes in support of his sixth studio CD Get Closer, which was released in November 2010.  Get Closer follows two previous consecutive Billboard Country and Pop #1 albums, as well as five previous CDs, all of which have been certified platinum or multi-platinum.  His last effort, 2009’s Defying Gravity, just went platinum and spun off five Top 5 hits, including the chart-toppers “Sweet Thing” and “Only You Can Love Me This Way,” bringing his total of #1 songs to eleven.
Jake Owen, who will perform on the U.S. leg of the tour, is a perfect fit, with his charismatic stage show and a string of top hits to his credit, including such favorites as “Don’t Think I Can’t Love You” and “Eight Second Ride.”
Mohegan Sun Arena was ranked the 4th busiest venue in 2009 by Billboard Magazine and was the 2008 recipient of a Country Music Award for “Casino of The Year.” For more information on concerts and other great events at Mohegan Sun, visit mohegansun.com.  For information on this week’s schedule, call the Entertainment and Special Events hotline at 1.888.226.7711, ext. 27163.
