Megadeth Brings Gigantour To Mohegan Sun Arena In 2012

2011-11-01

Live in Arena on January 27th

Gigantour, the critically acclaimed package festival founded in 2005 by esteemed Metal titans Megadeth, will make its highly anticipated return for the first time since 2008. Megadeth will perform along with Motorhead and special guests Volbeat and Lacuna Coil in Mohegan Sun Arena on Friday, January 27th at 6:30pm.
Tickets are $35.00 and go on sale Friday, November 4th at 10:00am through Ticketmaster.  Ticketmaster customers may log on to ticketmaster.com; call Ticketmaster’s national toll free Charge By Phone number 1.800.745.3000; or visit any Ticketmaster outlet.  Tickets will also be available at the Mohegan Sun Box Office starting Saturday, November 5th, subject to availability.
Megadeth’s thirteenth album–appropriately titled TH1RT3EN—was released November 1st via Roadrunner Records.  On TH1RT3EN, Dave Mustaine and the band continue to sharpen their attack, taking down leaders who sell false truths; Megadeth taps into the collective paranoia of modern times.  The new release follows up 2009’s Endgame, which was one of the most celebrated albums of the pioneering band’s storied career. Anticipation is high and fans are anxious for a taste of new music from the legends who have sold over 25 million albums globally throughout the course of their career.  The album’s first single is the volcanic “Public Enemy No. 1.”
With nine Grammy nominations under their bullet belts and having enjoyed five consecutive platinum and multi-platinum certifications, as well as seven gold certifications during their career, Megadeth needs no introduction. They’ve essentially written the book on Heavy Metal and Hard Rock, gaining momentum with each critically lauded release.
Mohegan Sun Arena is ranked the 4th best venue by Billboard Magazine and was the 2008 and 2010 recipient of a Country Music Award for “Casino of The Year.”  For more information on concerts and other great events at Mohegan Sun, visit mohegansun.com.  For information on this week’s schedule, call the Entertainment and Special Events hotline at 1.888.226.7711, ext. 27163.
