Everclear, Sugar Ray, Gin Blossoms, Lit and Marcy Playground perform live in the Arena on July 29th

As music fans across New England shake off the last vestiges of winter, the first-ever Summerland Tour will make its way to Mohegan Sun. The tour, which is anchored by founding bands Everclear, Sugar Ray, Gin Blossoms, Lit and Marcy Playground will make its way to Mohegan Sun Arena on Sunday, July 29th at 7:00pm.
Tickets are $25.00 and go on sale Friday, April 13th through Ticketmaster.  Ticketmaster customers may log on to ticketmaster.com; call Ticketmaster’s national toll free Charge By Phone number 1.800.745.3000; or visit any Ticketmaster outlet.  Tickets will also be available at the Mohegan Sun Box Office starting Saturday, April 14th, subject to availability.
With hits like the modern rock radio staples “Santa Monica,” “Everything to Everyone,” “I Will Buy You a New Life,” “Father of Mine” and “Wonderful,” Everclear has sold more than 9 Million albums globally.  Fronted by Art Alexakis, Everclear remains a potent force on the touring circuit.  The band is currently in the studio in Los Angeles working on their first original album in 6 years, which will be released in time for the Summerland tour.
Perhaps best known for their 1997 breakthrough Number One song “Fly,” Sugar Ray dominated the pop charts throughout the 90s with such hits as “Every Morning,” “Someday,” and the 2001 hit “When It’s Over.” These hugely successful tracks propelled Sugar Ray and their charismatic lead singer Mark McGrath, to selling 10 Million records worldwide.
Fans around the world are very familiar with Gin Blossoms’ five-time Platinum breakthrough album New Miserable Experience, containing gems like “Until I Fall Away,” “Found Out About You,”  “Hey Jealousy” and “Alison Road.” Those hit tracks were followed up by Empire Records Platinum Soundtrack hit, “Til I Hear It From you,” and in 1996, by the singles “Follow you Down” and “As Long As It Matters,” which hit the radio in a big way, making their Congratulations I’m Sorry record another platinum success. Gin Blossoms hits have crossed over in 5 different formats, taking the airwaves by siege, and holding MTV hostage for a good portion of the 90s. The band continues to burn up the road performing over 120 tour dates per year.
Lit’s first new album in 8 years, The View From The Bottom, is scheduled for release on June 19th and is the band’s first album since the passing of founding member and drummer Allen Shellenberger.  Lit first broke through in 1999 with their album A Place In The Sun, which spawned the Number One modern rock song of the year, “My Own Worst Enemy,” and the Top Ten single “Miserable.”  Since then the band has been a fixture on the radio and on the road all over the world.
Marcy Playground’s 1997 hit, “Sex and Candy,” is one of the most iconic hit songs of the era.  Since then they have toured consistently and released several additional albums including 2010’s remix album Indaba Remixes from Wonderland.
Mohegan Sun Arena is ranked the 5th best venue in the world by Billboard Magazine and was the 2008 and 2010 recipient of a Country Music Award for “Casino of The Year.”  Venues Today also ranked Mohegan Sun Arena #4 in 2011.
