The first-ever non-musician Wolf Den Hall of Fame recognition is set for Friday, May 2nd before the Jana Kramer performance
Mohegan Sun’s Wolf Den has long been known for bringing great Country acts, both up-and-coming and established, to Connecticut, so much so that the venue has been awarded the small capacity industry award “Casino of the Year” by the Academy of Country Music. The ability to continually bring in high-caliber live Country music, at free admission, is unmatched in the region and it would never be possible without the help and great partnership with 97.7 WCTY-FM. That is why Mohegan Sun will be honoring the whole team over at Eastern Connecticut’s Country station, WCTY-FM, as the next Wolf Den Hall of Fame inductee.
The induction ceremony will take place on The Wolf Den stage prior to the start of the Jana Kramer performance on Friday, May 2nd at 8:00pm. Mohegan Sun executives and Tribal leaders will be on hand to present this honor to the team over at WCTY-FM.
“Our entertainment programming here at Mohegan Sun is designed to recognize a very loyal Country Music fan-base with much of the credit going to Joe Soper, our Director of Entertainment. WCTY-FM certainly share’s our passion, and without them it would have been impossible for The Wolf Den to be recognized nationally. We can now both celebrate our first ever Wolf Den ACM Award with their first ever Wolf Den Hall of Fame Award, the first non-musician honoree.” They’re long past deserving said Tom Cantone, Senior VP of Sports & Entertainment for the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority.
Dave Elder, WCTY Program Director added, “This is an honor for the entire staff at WCTY-FM. Our partnership with Mohegan Sun and the Wolf Den has been a pleasure and a privilege. We have had the unique opportunity to play new music from up-and-coming Country stars that play the Wolf Den. Our staff and listeners in eastern Connecticut have watched these artists grow in front of their eyes becoming major international stars. From Rascal Flatts and Toby Keith to the Zac Brown Band and more, so many talented Country music performers have played the Wolf Den stage and are now headlining Mohegan Sun Arena! The Den and Arena are “Nashville – Northeast!”
Fan’s should be sure to tune into WCTY-FM all month long as the station will be running an on-going trivia contest for a chance to win seats in the special WCTY VIP section at the Jana Kramer performance and Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Friday, May 2nd.
