Five Finger Death Punch, undoubtedly one of the most relevant and successful Rock bands globally, dominated 2013 with the releases The Wong Side Of Heaven And The Righteous Side Of Hell – Volume 1 and Volume 2. Both volumes debuted on the U.S. Billboard album chart at #2 (more notably, within a four-month period) and in the top ten mainstream charts all across the globe. The two albums feature two #1 radio hit singles (“Lift Me Up” featuring Rob Halford of Judas Priest and “Battle Born”) and have combined sales of over 600,000 units to date. The multi-million selling Rock titans’ current single, “The House Of The Rising Sun” is their 13th consecutive top ten hit at Active Rock Radio. Watch the video here: http://vevo.ly/pNJ7Cr. USA TODAY proclaimed Volume 2 elevates the group “…to the top of its game. Offering more than blind rage, though there’s certainly plenty, the songs live in the tension implied by the album’s title—aware of the implications of lashing out, ready to accept the consequences” (11/19/13). Following Australia’s Soundwave Festival and shows across Japan and South East Asia, the band just concluded a sold out European headlining tour. Five Finger Death Punch is Ivan Moody (vocals), Zoltan Bathory (guitar), Jeremy Spencer (drums), Jason Hook (guitar) and Chris Kael (bass).
Volbeat’s Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies has sold more than 300,000 copies in the U.S. according to Soundscan, alongside hundreds of thousands of digital singles. The Danish quartet received their first Grammy Nomination in the “Best Metal Performance” category for “Room 24” (Volbeat Featuring King Diamond) and won Germany’s Echo Award for “Best International Alternative Act.” The band’s repertoire has become a staple at Active Rock radio, cementing their relevance with five consecutive #1 singles at the format. Their latest “Dead But Rising” is entrenched in the Top 5, on its way to the peak of the chart. Overseas, Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies has been certified platinum in their home country of Denmark, alongside Germany and Austria, with gold sales in Finland.

The upcoming dates follow their recent sold-out U.S. tour in March and their highly successful second band cruise in early April — The Moodies Cruise — which returned to the Isle of Wight with alums Roger Daltrey of The Who, Carl Palmer of ELP, Lighthouse and Shawn Phillips; The Zombies, The Orchestra starring ELO, Starship, Little River Band and more. The summer tour will also tie in with the recent issue of their 17 and 4-CD box sets Timeless Flight, on Universal Music Enterprises.
The band will be going on five decades strong as of May 5, 2014. Says The Dallas Morning News: The band showed in its performance why it has endured almost half a century…the harmonies between John Lodge and the band front man Justin Hayward created soaring drama punctuated by the interplay between smoke and light ray. Adds, The St. Louis Post Dispatch: “It all came down to the melodies, which ranged from gorgeously seductive to simply catchy and punchy…the Moodies depend on nostalgic memories of their fans’ youth, but they also know that in the present, these songs can still move the listener.” The Toronto Sun says: “One of the biggest strengths the band has is knowing what they do and doing it extremely well.”
Mohegan Sun Arena is now ranked consistently among the top venues in the world according to Billboard Magazine, Pollstar and Venues Today. HEAD COACH COMMENTS
Ed DeChellis, United States Naval Academy
“We are very excited to be playing in the 2014 Hall of Fame Tip Off Tournament. The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame has assembled a great field and we look forward to competing.”
Ed Cooley, Providence College
“We are very excited to be participating in the 2014 Hall of Fame Tip Off at Mohegan Sun,” Providence College Head Coach Ed Cooley said. “The tournament field will be very strong and should provide us with excellent competition as we prepare for our 2015 conference season.”
Tommy Dempsey, Binghamton University
“I was fortunate enough to participate in the Hall of Fame Tip Off event when I was coaching at Rider. It’s a first-class event with a great field every year. We are excited to be part of the 2014 event.”
Bill Coen, Northeastern University
“We are excited to participate in the 2014 Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament. Massachusetts is the birthplace of basketball, so it is an honor for us to represent the Commonwealth and to help promote the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and its efforts to preserve the history of the game we love. The 2014 Tip-Off features strong programs with rich basketball histories. We look forward to a highly-competitive event.”
Steve Masiello, Manhattan College
“We’re really excited to be a part of the Hall of Fame Tipoff Tournament. It has such a great tradition, it’s a fun event. The field this year is as good as it’s been — teams like Florida State, Notre Dame, UMass. It gives us, a mid-major team, an opportunity to play some terrific road games and an opportunity to play at a neutral site event. It gives us a stage to show not only the Hall of Fame what we’re capable of, but also show the country what our program and our brand is all about. It will be a very difficult tournament but something that we’re excited about and looking forward to.”
Leonard Hamilton, Florida State University
“The Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament is a prestigious event that we are very honored to be a part of in 2014. It is an exciting tournament that allows us to play against topflight competition and against teams that will challenge us because of the different styles of basketball played by each team in the event. We are also very excited to be a part of the event because the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame is such an integral piece of the game of basketball and we want our players to understand the history of the game that we all love so much.”
Derek Kellogg, University of Massachusetts
“It’s a great opportunity for our program to play in this event against some of the best teams in the country. It allows our fans in New England to watch us play games in a first-class facility at the Mohegan Sun Arena.”
Mike Brey, University of Notre Dame
“We’re thrilled to be part the 2014 Tip-Off Tournament in November and to bring Notre Dame back to the Northeast. This event has become one of the premier tournaments in November and we’re excited to be playing Providence, a team that we know very well from our days in the BIG EAST Conference, and Massachusetts. It will be a great couple of days of basketball in the state of Connecticut. We’ll have three players on our roster next year from the New England area and I know that they will be thrilled to return to the area and play in front of their families and friends.”

About Dan+Shay:
Breakout country duo Dan + Shay (Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney) impressively debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Albums Chart with their highly anticipated album, Where It All Began, making them the only duo in SoundScan reported history to debut at No. 1 with their first album on the Country Albums Chart and the highest Billboard charting debut artists of 2014. Released April 1st on Warner Bros. Records, the album showcases their nearly Top 10 single “19 You + Me,” which has been certified Gold by RIAA selling over 550,000 tracks, being featured as a “Hot Music Download” in People Country, along with being called out to “equal success” in USA Today. Named an “act that will help define 2014” by Billboard, Dan + Shay wrote every song on their album, as well, the album was produced by Smyers and co-produced by Scott Hendricks and Danny Orton. The ACM Award Nominees joined Hunter Hayes on tour this spring and will continue on the road in June with Blake Shelton. Made up of Smyers, a Pittsburgh, PA native, and Mooney, originally of Natural Dam, AR, the two realized they had a special musical connection after meeting at a party at Smyers’ house, in his tented out living room a little over a year ago. What started as a late night jam session among new friends, led to daily writing sessions that resulted in songs which quickly caught the attention of publishers, label heads and radio programmers alike.
