Can’t-miss festival returns June 15th & 16th, rain or shine
UNCASVILLE, CT (April 24, 2024) – Sun BBQ Fest is back for another year and guests are invited to get ready to fire up their taste buds for a weekend of smoky flavors, tender meats, cold beer and delicious cocktails. Sun BBQ Fest is set to take place from Noon – 9:00pm on Saturday, June 15th and Noon – 5:00pm on Sunday, June 16th. Throughout the weekend, guests can take in incredible live music and enjoy 50+ food trucks, savory BBQ including full dish options from top grill masters and participate in the People’s Choice Competition. In that showdown, Sun BBQ Fest guests can judge a rib, wing, and burger competition for $1 per sample. Tickets to Sun BBQ Fest are on sale now via Ticketmaster and the Mohegan Sun Box Office, subject to availability. Kids age 12 and under receive free admission all weekend.
Guests who purchase a ticket to Sun BBQ Fest will be automatically entered to win a Pit Boss Sportsman 820 Wood Pellet Grill courtesy of Pit Boss! A winner will be announced at 4:45pm on Sunday, June 16th on the Main Stage. Guests do not need to be present to win.
Guests looking to up their BBQ game are in luck as chef demonstrations will take place throughout the day with presentations from Chef Plum, Chef Erica Roby and more BBQ pit masters! Those interested in a full list of chefs and schedule of events can visit sunbbqfest.com.
Sun BBQ Fest isn’t Sun BBQ Fest without a Cornhole Tournament! Wicked Cornhole will host a pro-standard Cornhole Tournament on Saturday and Sunday, with three winners each day. Guests who purchase a ticket to Sun BBQ Fest in addition to downloading the Scoreholio app will be eligible to participate in the tournament.
The fun keeps going into Saturday night! From 4:00pm – 7:00pm, guests can experience the Bubbles & Brews Tailgate at Sun BBQ Fest before the captivating fireworks display and electrifying performances by Country stars, Chase Bryant and Jon Langston on the main stage! Sip on cold brews, bubbly cocktails, and unlimited alcohol samples, while listening to Locals Live 2022 Champion, Nick Bosse, and The Northern Roots perform live on the main stage. A ticket to this event includes entry to Sun BBQ Fest and come and go access during the event. Tickets are on sale now via Ticketmaster and the Mohegan Sun Box Office, subject to availability.
Throughout the weekend, Mohegan Digital will be providing a smokin’ opportunity to enjoy great food and walk away with fantastic prizes. After meeting the entry requirements, guests will receive one spin on the giant prize wheel, which includes more than $10,000 in prizes including cash, bonus credit, merchandise, and trending products!
