The Elite Cru Tasting, The Celebrity Chef Dine Around and Expert Seminars Provide Up-Close Opportunities with Celebrity Chefs, High-End Wines and Prominent Winemakers

 Attendees of the Grand Tasting event for SUN WINEFEST 2010 and wine enthusiasts can enhance their weekend with an array of premium events during the weekend.  The Elite Cru Tasting, Celebrity Chef Dine Around and several seminars provide unique opportunities to learn about food and wine from experts of their crafts.

An exclusive opportunity to enjoy some of the “best of the best” wines from all over the world can be found at the Elite Cru Tasting from 3:00pm to 5:00pm on Saturday, January 30th in The Cabaret Theatre. Select vintages from premium wineries such as Silver Oak Napa Valley, Tenuta San Guido Sassicaia, Stags Leap Wine Cellars Cask 23, and Duckhorn Three Palms Vineyard Merlot to name a few accompanied by Contessa Premium Shrimp.  Winemakers and principles such as Margo Van Staaveren, Chateau St. Jean; Larry Maguire, Far Niente; Pat Henderson, Heck Estates; Peter Mondavi, Charles Krug Winery and more will be on hand to talk one-on-one during the tasting.  Tickets for this one-of-a-kind opportunity are $200.00 per person.
On Saturday evening, SUN WINEFEST 2010’s Celebrity Chef Dine Around features some of the most prominent names in the industry. The event will take place from 7:30pm to 11:30pm in the Uncas Ballroom and will feature a champagne reception hosted by Möet Chandon, fine wine, food pairings, and a silent auction.
Guests will be served signature dishes by the Celebrity chefs themselves including Bobby Flay, Todd English, Jasper White, Robert Irvine, Mary Ann Esposito, Govind Armstrong, Ben Ford, Lydia Shire, Floyd Cardoz, Christina Pirello, Andy Husbands, Betty Fraser, Michael Ginor, Chris Schlesinger, Kim Canteenwalla and Ihsan Gurdal.  Tickets for this culinary spectacle are $175.00 per person. 
Throughout the weekend, an extraordinary lineup of wine and beer experts will host various seminars throughout the restaurants at Mohegan Sun.  Seminars include tastings with Alan Newman, Director of Cosmic Symphonies and Matt Cohen, Dude of Dichotomy and Devilry at Magic Hat Brewery; Michael Mondavi on his family’s role in the California wine industry and the latest chapter of the family story and more. The weekend’s main event, the Grand Tasting takes place from 12:00pm – 5:00pm in the Convention Center at Mohegan Sun. Over 1,000 wines, spirits and ales will be on-hand for tasting as well as sample dishes from some of the area’s finest restaurants. Tickets for the Grand Tasting are $70.00 for a one-day pass and $110.00 for a weekend pass, and may be purchased online at ticketmaster.com, over the phone at 1.800.745.3000, or in-person at Mohegan Sun’s Box Office.  A Grand Tasting ticket is not required to attend Seminars, the Celebrity Chef Dine Around or the Elite Cru tasting, and a ticket to the Grand Tasting does not grant admission to those events.
