TerrifiCON, Connecticut’s #1 comic book convention, returns on Friday August 16th, taking place once again at Mohegan Sun. This popular Comic-Con event is action-packed for three full days of super- powered awesomeness. TerrifiCON 2024 is bringing no shortage of special guests and TV stars. Kicking off at 1:30pm on Friday, August 16th, guests will have the special opportunity to meet stars from classic superhero TV shows and films, including Michael Rooker– best known for his role as Merle Dixon from the AMC hit series The Walking Dead and Yondu Udonta from Marvels Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy. A conglomerate of actors across a widespread range of Star Trek films and series, consisting of Star Trek; Films 1-7, Deep Space Nine, Strange New Threads, New Worlds, Discovery, and Picard will be joining the event including: Nana Visitor,Armin Shimerman, Andrew Robinson, Ethan Peck, Celia Rose Gooding, and Stephanie Czajkowski. Dining space offering pizza, salads, grinders, grab-and-go snacks and more is now open across from the Sun Patio in Casino of the Earth
Mohegan Sun is pleased to announce The Crafty Slice is officially open! The Crafty Slice offers freshly made pizza that is perfect for guests who are on the go and those who are looking for some late-night eats. The Crafty Slice is conveniently located at the Summer Entrance, right across from Mohegan Sun’s newly renovated outdoor entertainment venue, the Sun Patio.
“We wanted to open another quick bite option that is close to our two award-winning venues, Mohegan Sun Arena and the Wolf Den, and is also available for our late-night guests,” said Jeff Hamilton, president and general manager at Mohegan Sun. “We are thrilled that The Crafty Slice meets those goals, and it’s also convenient for guests enjoying more than 30 free shows at our new outdoor attraction, the Sun Patio!”
Pizza slices at The Crafty Slice are available starting at $5 each, and options range from vegetarian to pepperoni and a meat lover’s combo slice with pepperoni, sausage, chicken and meatballs. Guests can also snag grab-and-go options that include premade salads, grinders, snacks and the Walking Taco – a bag of Dorito or Frito chips topped with lettuce, tomato, housemade chili, queso, and sour cream. Those looking to fulfill a sweet tooth can try the specialty dessert style pizza or tasty churro bites served with a chocolate dipping sauce. Refreshing beverage options include beer, ready-to-drink cocktails, energy drinks and boozy slushies like the Casimigos Margarita. Mohegan Ranked 77 Among 100 Global Companies Recognized forTeam Member Sentiment and Satisfaction
Newsweek published its annual rankings for the Top 100 Global Most Loved Workplaces® list, with Mohegan ranked 77. This is the second annual Top 100 Global Most Loved Workplaces® list in collaboration with the Best Practice Institute (BPI), a leadership development and benchmark research company.
The results were determined after surveying more than two million team members from businesses with workforces varying in size from 30 to over 10,000. The list recognizes companies that center respect, caring and appreciation for their employees in their business models and, in doing so, have earned the loyalty of their employees.

In addition, areas such as inclusion, employee wellness, diversity, career development and company leadership were identified and analyzed in relation to the five critical areas measured.

In consultation with Newsweek editors, BPI also considered employee wellness, diversity, inclusion, career advancement, and other workplace and talent development initiatives.
To identify the top 100 companies ranked in this Newsweek publication, companies were evaluated and scored as follows: 50 percent of the initial score was based on direct employee responses to BPI’s proprietary Love of Workplace Index® assessment. Another 15 percent was derived from analysis of external public ratings from sites such as Comparably, Careerbliss, Glassdoor, Indeed, and Google. The final 35 percent came from BPI’s direct interviews and written responses from company officials. Newsweek then researched every company on the list to determine the final list of 100 companies and their rankings.
