On Thursday, September 3rd
UNCASVILLE, CT (January 28, 2020) – Mohegan Sun Arena welcomes back Rock band, Daughtry, on Thursday, September 3rd at 8:00pm.
Tickets are $45.00 and $35.00 and go on sale Friday, January 31st at 10:00am through Ticketmaster. Ticketmaster customers may log on to ticketmaster.com. Tickets will also be available at the Mohegan Sun Box Office beginning Saturday, February 1st at 10:00am, subject to availability.
“It takes a lot of time to accept who you are,” says Chris Daughtry. “You shave off the persona that you thought people expected, stop worrying about what anyone is going to think. You start to be comfortable with who you are onstage and off, and that all blends together. I think I finally know who I am as a person.”
As the frontman for the band bearing his name, Daughtry has become one of the most visible and consistent Rock & Roll torchbearers of the 21st century. Throughout his career he has released four albums, all of which reached the Billboard Top Ten and have combined sales over 8 million copies in the U.S.
Daughtry’s self-titled debut was the best-selling album of 2007, which contained four Top Twenty hit singles including the Grammy-nominated smash “It’s Not Over.” Leave This Town also reached #1 in 2009, while 2011’s Break the Spell was certified gold. His group’s most recent record, 2013’s Baptized, featured the platinum-selling “Waiting for Superman,” which the singer points to as a turning point in his songwriting.
One thing that has kept the fire burning for Daughtry has been the need to constantly challenge himself creatively. He has collaborated with artists from Timbaland to Vince Gill to Carlos Santana. This kind of ambition has also extended to the work of Daughtry the band. “We always try to push ourselves outside of the familiar parameters,” says the singer. “If it’s anything like we’ve done before, then it’s not good enough for the record.”
Daughtry and his band have been performing together for over a decade and released their fifth album in 2018. They look to contemporaries like Maroon 5 and Train as examples of acts able to maintain their relevance while Rock & Roll faces an uphill struggle in the mass media. “Those guys are inspirational, showing that you can come back and have a strong presence, even if what you’re known for doing is having a hard time,” he says.
Mohegan Sun Arena is now ranked consistently among the top venues in the world according to Billboard Magazine, Pollstar and VenuesNow. Mohegan Sun Arena is consistently ranked among the top three “Arenas in the World for its Size” and top 15 in the “World for All Size Venues.” The award – winning venue is the “#1 Casino Venue in the World,” “#1 Social Media Venue in the World” and a seven – time national award – winner for “Arena of the Year.” For more information on concerts and other great events, visit Mohegan Sun. On Friday, May 22nd; Tickets go on sale January 31st
UNCASVILLE, CT (January 27, 2020) – Mohegan Sun Arena welcomes back Classic vocalist and American Pop icon group, Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons on Friday, May 22nd at 8:00pm.
Tickets are $35.00 and go on sale Friday, January 31st at 10:00am through Ticketmaster. Ticketmaster customers may log on to ticketmaster.com. Tickets will also be available at the Mohegan Sun Box Office beginning Saturday, February 1st at 10:00am, subject to availability.
There’s something about Frankie Valli’s music that makes young people of every generation want to get up and dance. Amid the Disco era, the Seasons hit it big with “Who Loves You,” which reached #3 in 1975 and “December 1963 (Oh, What a Night),” a #1 record in 1976. On the other side of the Atlantic, “You’re Ready Now” and “The Night,” which didn’t do anything in the U.S., emerged from dance clubs in the north of England to become huge hits in Europe. Two decades later, in 1994, a dance club remix of “December 1963” climbed to #14 in the U.S. on Billboard Hot 100. In 2000, a French-language Rap version of “December 1963” went to #1 in Paris. And a few years ago – a remix of The Four Seasons’ 1967 hit “Beggin’” became the #1 Dance record in Britain.
Valli & The Four Seasons have influenced many other great recording artists. For example, from Barry Gibb, “Frankie Valli to me has become one of the hallmark voices of our generation. From the deepest emotions of his real voice to the power of his falsetto, he created a style that we all still strive to emulate.” From Billy Joel, “I wrote ‘Uptown Girl’ as the flip side to the story of ‘Rag Doll.’ I always loved that record.” And from Brian Wilson, “In the early 60s The Four Seasons were my favorite group. I thought they were fantastic. The voice blend was fantastic. The competition helped me to get cracking. It inspired me, because they made good music. I went to the piano thinking I could top their music.”
