As founder of Creedence Clearwater Revival, Fogerty’s career spans 50 years and he is hailed as one of the most influential musicians in Rock history. As the writer, singer and producer of numerous classic hits including “Born on the Bayou”, “Green River”, “Proud Mary”, and “Bad Moon Rising”, Fogerty is a Grammy winner who has been honored as one of the 100 Greatest Guitarists, 100 Greatest Songwriters, and 100 Greatest Singers by Rolling Stone.
Earning induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Songwriters Hall of Fame, and Baseball Hall of Fame, he is also a New York Times best-selling author for his memoir, Fortunate Son: My Life, My Music. In January 2023, he regained control over his works, acquiring majority interest of his worldwide publishing rights from Concord. Currently on a worldwide Celebration Tour, Fogerty is now performing his classic songs, with his two sons, for the first time since owning his catalog of songs which have resonated with fans for over five decades.
In December of 1973 at The University of Delaware’s Lane Hall, a guitarist, a drummer, and their rhythm guitarist set up on the small bandstand. Though the three-piece band had barely rehearsed, guitarist George Thorogood and drummer Jeff Simon had been bashing out covers of songs they loved. Five decades, 15 million albums and more than 8,000 performances later, few bands can still rock the house like George Thorogood & The Destroyers. Mohegan Sun Arena also commemorated 15 millionth guest
UNCASVILLE, CT (February 23, 2024) – On Thursday, February 22nd, Mohegan Sun honored Matt Rife as the 41st Walk of Fame inductee, ahead of the second of five consecutive sold-out shows during the ProbleMATTic World Tour at Mohegan Sun Arena. Tom Cantone, President of Sports and Entertainment at Mohegan, and Kim Baker of the Mohegan Tribal Council, presented the headline comic with the Walk of Fame star.
“Five consecutive sold-out shows at an award-winning venue like Mohegan Sun Arena unquestionably deserves recognition in our Walk of Fame. More than 35,000 people will fill the Arena during this record-breaking run, and we are thrilled to have Matt Rife and his entire team be a part of it,” Cantone said before introducing Rife amongst an outburst of cheers and applause.
Matt Rife accepted the award in front of a large crowd of his most dedicated fans.
“This has been an incredible experience for me and means more than a Hollywood Walk of Fame star,” Matt Rife told the crowd after accepting the award. “Thank you to everyone that has supported me from the beginning. Five sold-out shows at one venue is unbelievable, and I hope everyone attending this run of shows enjoys themselves.”
The Mohegan Sun Arena Walk of Fame has honored artists like Taylor Swift, Bon Jovi, Luke Combs, Shinedown, Ringo Starr, and other long-time, sell-out acts that are enshrined outside of the Mohegan Sun Box Office forecourt. Simone brings over 16 years of experience across marketing, business operations and full-scale sales within meetings and conventions. UNCASVILLE, CT (February 21, 2024) –– Shane Gillis will bring his award-winning comedic genius to Mohegan Sun Arena for a night full of laughter on Friday, August 16th at 8:00pm.
Tickets to see Gillis go on sale Friday, February 23rd at 10:00am via Ticketmaster.com. Subject to availability, Comedy fans can buy tickets at the Mohegan Sun Box Office starting on Saturday, February 24th.
Shane Gillis is a stand-up comic, actor, and writer from Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. After winning Philly’s Funniest at Helium Comedy Club in 2016 Shane was named an “Up-Next” Comic at Comedy Central’s 2019 Clusterfest in San Francisco and a “New Face” at the prestigious Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal. In 2021, Gillis released his debut comedy special Shane Gillis: Live in Austin on YouTube which has been viewed over 14 million times. Gillis is one-half of Patreon and Apple’s top 10 podcasts Matt and Shane’s Secret Podcast. He’s a regular guest on Sirius XM’s The Bonfire, Spotify’s The Joe Rogan Experience, and Barstool Sports’ KFC Radio.
Shane was a writer on Comedy Central’s Delco Proper and co-created, wrote, and starred in the YouTube hit sketch series Gilly & Keeves. In October of 2022, Shane and John McKeever partnered with Booklight Entertainment and Outback Presents to produce and release Gilly & Keeves: The Special on GillyandKeeves.tv.
