The follow up to her UK number 1 album This Is How Tomorrow Moves, the stark and striking fourth album by beabadoobee is named for the electricity towers that dot every major artery in the world—the strong, spindly structures that reminded Beatrice Laus of her connection to friends and family at home while she was staring down extreme disconnection and isolation on tour over the past few years.
The title can also be read as an allusion to Laus’ spiky, forceful new sound—the waves of distortion that crash and shatter across this record’s 14 songs mirroring the intense crackle you hear when walking under power lines. The pylon is also a fitting symbol for an album that reckons with the repetitive anxieties of your mid-twenties: What if I’m always going to be this way? What if life is just pylon after pylon on the road?
The album’s first single is available to stream and buy from today: “Sun Has Set” introduces Pylon as, in essence, a set of songs that began as diary entries, words that Laus thought she’d never be able to say out loud. “A lot of the songs on this record are things I wish I could have said to someone,” she says. “This song has this petty tunnel vision—it’s like, I hate you. You’re gonna stay here and listen to how much I hate you. Because I never got to say that.” The single comes accompanied by a striking first-person video directed by Bea’s partner and longtime visual collaborator Jake Erland.
Ever a devotee of pure Rock music—both as something to be cherished and something to be played with—Laus casts these feelings in songs that touch on classic grunge, midwest emo and ‘90s radio rock, zeroing in on a sound that is both harsher and more direct than any of her previous records. She says the music she’s loved has “always been an influence” on her music, and so for B4 she went straight to the source. A fair few of Beabadoobee’s composite influences contributed to Pylon, a fact that speaks to the goodwill and respect Laus has amassed over the course of her relatively brief career.
Hayley Williams sings on “Nothing to Prove”a deeply anthemic indie-rock song about getting your power back from fair-weather friends who just want a bit of your success. The moody “Powerlines” features a verse from Turnstile singer Brendan Yates, a master of matching vocal force with emotional nuance. Elsewhere, you’ll find contributions from Pinegrove’s Evan Stephens Hall, Deftones’ Chino Moreno, and Title Fight’s Shane Moran, as well as, on “Write Me A Letter”, production work from Laus’ longtime friends and collaborators Matty Healy and George Daniel of The 1975.

For the second summer in a row, a unique sand sculpture installation designed exclusively for Mohegan Sun in honor of Mohegan culture and heritage is on display in the center of The Shops at Mohegan Sun. A Tribute to Mohegan Heritage and Dr. Gladys Tantaquidgeon
“Enlisting renowned artists Abe Waterman and Greg J. Grady to again craft such an impressive, dual-sided sand sculpture has resulted in quite the statement in The Shops at Mohegan Sun,” -said Jeff Hamilton, President of Mohegan Sun. “Dr. Gladys Tantaquidgeon is such an important and beloved Mohegan leader, and her likeness and presence shine through with this piece — we’re really excited for guests to discover this artistry at the center of Mohegan Sun!”
Weighing an estimated 10 tons, this sculpture was crafted entirely from sand by the award-winning team at Professional Sculptors, LLC, featuring celebrated artists Abe Waterman and Greg J. Grady, also known professionally as “G2.” This year, the sculpture prominently features the late Dr. Gladys Tantaquidgeon, a revered Mohegan Medicine Woman, co-founder of the Tantaquidgeon Museum, and Native American advocate and educator. The installation honors her enduring legacy and brings to life Mohegan symbols and stories, providing guests with a memorable cultural experience.
The intricate Mohegan Sun Hot Summer Fun Sand Sculpture is the work of two highly acclaimed sand sculptors.
Abe Waterman, from Prince Edward Island, Canada, is recognized for his imaginative approach to ephemeral art. Transitioning to sand sculpting in 2007, his accolades include:
- First Place at the 2025 Atlantis Rising International Sand Sculpture Competition
- European Champion at the International Sand Sculpture Europe Championship in Belgium (2021)
- World Champion in the Doubles category with Dmitry Klimenko at the Virginia Beach Neptune Championship Sand Sculpting (2018)
Greg J. Grady, a New Hampshire native and second-generation sand sculptor, has transformed a childhood passion into a global career. Multi-platinum rock band set for a special one-night-only performance at Mohegan Sun Arena

Vocalist Aaron Lewis, guitarist Mike Mushok, bassist Johnny April, and drummer Jon Wysocki gigged around the Northeast, covering artists like Korn, TOOL, and Alice In Chains, before self-releasing 1996’s suicide-themed concept album, Tormented. The record’s bloodied, crucifix-featuring cover art shocked many, including—according to legend—Fred Durst.
The Limp Bizkit frontman soon came around when he saw them live and helped the band land a major-label deal. Staind’s 1999 follow-up, Dysfunction, scored them a modest rock hit with the growling sucker punch “Mudshovel,” but 2001’s Break the Cycle is where they fully came into their own. Shedding their heavy nu-metal armor, the band leaned hard into melody, finding therapy in dense post-grunge ballads “It’s Been Awhile” and “Outside,” both devastating confessions of Lewis’ struggles with depression and addiction.
Over the next decade, his emotional journey would increasingly influence the band’s sonic one: Acoustic-lined hits like 2003’s “So Far Away” twinkle with the slightest silver lining, while 2005’s “Right Here” shudders with slippery riffs and Lewis’ hesitation to let go of love. By 2011’s self-titled seventh album, the band were on the rocks, and it shows in the loud-soft dynamics and headbanging ferocity within. Soon after, Wysocki departed, Lewis went solo—as a country singer—and Staind announced a hiatus. The next decade saw a few sporadic reunions and finally a promise to reclaim the alt-rock throne in the 2020s.

UNCASVILLE, CT (June 10, 2026) – Mohegan Sun invites guests to feel the rhythm of summer at Backyard Beats Presents: Latin Night, taking place Saturday, July 11th from 6:30pm – 11:00pm on the Sun Patio. This open-air celebration blends live music, dance, and vibrant energy into one unforgettable night for guests of all ages.

The night comes alive with a dynamic lineup of entertainment, headlined by Badder Bunny, the definitive Bad Bunny tribute show delivering an electrifying homage to one of Latin music’s biggest global stars. The evening will also feature live salsa music from Sabor Latino, plus interactive salsa dancing lessons led by Willie Rios of Willie’s Salsa Euphoria, giving guests of all skill levels a chance to hit the dance floor. Plus, throughout the night, DJ Lex will keep the energy going between sets, creating a seamless mix of music and movement under the summer sky. Guests can also enjoy $5 Modelo draft, drink specials and a variety of food trucks serving up delicious fare throughout the event.
For a more relaxed experience, guests can reserve a private fire pit with cocktail service for $15 per person, offering a comfortable space to unwind between performances. Fire pits accommodate groups of six to eight guests, and event admission is sold separately. All reservations must be checked in by 9:30pm to guarantee entry.
