Cooper was born in Detroit, Michigan and moved to Phoenix with his family. The Alice Cooper band formed while they were all in high school in Phoenix, and was discovered and signed in 1969 by Frank Zappa in Los Angeles. Their third break-through album Love It to Death which hit the charts in 1971, followed by Killer, School’s Out, Billion Dollar Babies and Muscle of Love. Each new album release was accompanied by a bigger and more elaborate touring stage show. 1974 saw the release of a Greatest Hits album, and then Cooper, in 1975, released his first solo album, Welcome to My Nightmare in 1975, accompanied by the legendary groundbreaking theatrical Welcome to My Nightmare concert tour.
Associated with that album and tour was the ground-breaking network TV special Alice Cooper: The Nightmare. Other film and television appearances include The Muppet Show, Mae West’s last film Sextette, Roadie, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearst Club Band and appearances on The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson and Tom Snyder’s Tomorrow Show.
Alice’s solo career skyrocketed in the late 1970’s, with a succession of hit singles, including “You & Me,” and classic albums, including Lace And Whiskey and From The Inside, and bigger and even more elaborate concert tours.
In the ‘80’s Cooper explored different sounds, highlighted by the new wavish album Flush The Fashion, the Heavy Metal “Constrictor” and “Raise Your Fist And Yell,” and then 1989’s melodic Hard Rock album Trash, which featured the massive hit single “Poison” and became his biggest selling album and single worldwide. During this period Alice also appeared in the horror films Monster Dog and John Carpenter’s Prince of Darkness, and recorded songs for the soundtracks to Roadie, Class of 1984, Friday the 13 Part VI: Jason Lives and Wes Craven’s Shocker.
Cooper’s most memorable movie appearance was as himself in Wayne’s World in 1991. He also played Freddy Krueger’s wicked step-father in Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare, and appeared on Gene Wilder’s TV series Something Wilder as well as on That ‘70’s Show. The 90’s also saw the release of the albums Hey Stoopid, The Last Temptation and Fistful of Alice.
In the new millenium, Cooper has been very productive and busy, writing, recording and releasing the albums Brutal Planet, Dragon Town, The Eyes of Alice Cooper, Dirty Diamonds, Along Came a Spider, and 2011’s Welcome 2 My Nightmare, plus Old School 1964-1974, a box set celebrating the original band.
He also wrote and published a memoir, Golf Monster, in 2007, which tracked his life from childhood to Rock stardom, and his journey from alcoholic to golf addict. With his influence on Rock & Roll long since acknowledged, there is little that Alice Cooper hasn’t achieved in his remarkable career, including platinum albums, sold-out tours and any number of honors and career achievement awards.

The band will be celebrating this week’s big announcement with a performance on The Tonight Show on January 22nd. Mohegan Sun Arena welcomes back the Final Tour for a Sunday, August 16th concert beginning at 7:00pm.
Tickets are $99.00 and $79.00 and go on sale on Friday, January 23rd at 10:00am and can be purchased on Ticketmaster.com. Mötley Crüe first announced plans for their 2-year Final Tour by signing a Cessation Of Touring Agreement at a press conference in Los Angeles in January 2014, solidifying the end of their Final Tour at the end of 2015.
The 2014 leg of the Final Tour was one of last year’s top grossing tours, selling close to a million tickets across 72 cities and grossing more than $45 million. “Mötley Crüe’s Final Tour has been a massive global success and a true testament to the popularity of this legendary
Rock band,” says Rick Franks, Live Nation’s Regional President of North American Concerts. “New Year’s Eve 2015 will mark the end of an era in Rock history but there’s no doubt that Mötley Crüe’s music will influence generations of artists for years to come.”
After thirty-four years performing together, the 2015 leg of the Final Tour will see the band play Japan in February, then Australia/New Zealand in spring. In June, Mötley Crüe will say farewell to the European Festival circuit with 3 massive performances at Download (UK), Sweden Rock (Sweden) and Novarock (Austria) Festivals before taking their can’t-miss show back to the U.S., Canada and Mexico this summer for 34 final North American shows due to tremendous fan demand.
The North American dates will see the band visit cities such as Chicago, New York, Toronto, Atlanta, Mexico City and will be taking place in arenas exclusively to ensure fans in all cities get to experience the full show production of the Final Tour:
“In some of the cities, we could only reach a fraction of the fans who wanted to come see us play last year because of ticket demand so we’re coming back to those places to bring them our full production including the Crüecifly drum coaster, as well as all pyro and every other bell and whistle. Even despite the overwhelming fan demand we can only add so many new cities in North America because of our commitment to take the Final Tour global on our final year,” says Nikki Sixx (bass).
Audiences can also expect a high-energy performance from very special guest Alice Cooper, who joined the band for the Final Tour in 2014. He will be tearing up the stage for crowds across North America once again. The pairing has been roundly praised as a must-see by fans and media alike.
The band’s exclusive VIP Packages (including opportunities to meet band members, exclusive merchandise and more) and Fan Club pre-sales for these dates start tomorrow, Wednesday, January 21st at 10:00am EST, with a special Citicard member pre-sale beginning at 5:00pm EST the same day.

Following the North American summer shows, the band will take the Final Tour on more international dates this fall before “all bad things come to an end” for good on New Year’s Eve 2015.

Alice Cooper is a true Rock icon, having pioneered the use of theatrics and shocking images onstage in concerts from the earliest days of the original band of the same name. Since going solo, he has continued to produce elaborate stage shows providing fans with both shock and Rock of the hightest caliber.
Inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame in 2011, Alice has toured and recorded continuously, with his most recent album being Welcome 2 My Nightmare through Ume. Recorded with longtime collaborator Bob Ezrin, who produced the original ground breaking, multi-platinum Welcome To My Nightmare album in 1975, the album picks up right where they left off, with Alice trapped in his own warped mind.
Marilyn Manson’s most recent full-length album Born Villain, his eighth overall, debuted in the Top 10 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart. It also grabbed the #1 spots on both the Heavy Album Chart and the Independent Album Chart.
“Born Villain is a return to form,” says CNN. “A hard-rocking album, brimming with rich imagery, visceral blowback and the glamour-meets-gutter eroticism that his best work evokes.” Rolling Stone has called the album some of his most “visceral and provocative tunes.” Born Villain earned Manson his fourth Grammy nomination at the 2013 Grammys in the category for “Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance” for the album’s lead single “No Reflection.”
