Mohegan Sun Arena also commemorated 15 millionth guest
UNCASVILLE, CT (February 23, 2024) – On Thursday, February 22nd, Mohegan Sun honored Matt Rife as the 41st Walk of Fame inductee, ahead of the second of five consecutive sold-out shows during the ProbleMATTic World Tour at Mohegan Sun Arena. Tom Cantone, President of Sports and Entertainment at Mohegan, and Kim Baker of the Mohegan Tribal Council, presented the headline comic with the Walk of Fame star.
“Five consecutive sold-out shows at an award-winning venue like Mohegan Sun Arena unquestionably deserves recognition in our Walk of Fame. More than 35,000 people will fill the Arena during this record-breaking run, and we are thrilled to have Matt Rife and his entire team be a part of it,” Cantone said before introducing Rife amongst an outburst of cheers and applause.
Matt Rife accepted the award in front of a large crowd of his most dedicated fans.
“This has been an incredible experience for me and means more than a Hollywood Walk of Fame star,” Matt Rife told the crowd after accepting the award. “Thank you to everyone that has supported me from the beginning. Five sold-out shows at one venue is unbelievable, and I hope everyone attending this run of shows enjoys themselves.”
The Mohegan Sun Arena Walk of Fame has honored artists like Taylor Swift, Bon Jovi, Luke Combs, Shinedown, Ringo Starr, and other long-time, sell-out acts that are enshrined outside of the Mohegan Sun Box Office forecourt. The Walk of Fame award seeks to recognize individuals and organizations who have made significant contributions to the success of Mohegan Sun Arena as the Northeast’s premier entertainment destination. All the inductees into the Mohegan Sun Arena Walk of Fame have their name engraved on a plaque that will be permanently placed at the entrance to Mohegan Sun Arena.
After the Mohegan Sun Arena Walk of Fame ceremony, three guests were honored as the Arena eclipsed another milestone of 15 million total guests in the Arena’s history since first opening in 2001. Tom Cantone and Matt Rife celebrated the momentous occasion with lucky trio prior to the second night of Rife’s run in the 10,000-seat venue.

Shane Gillis is a stand-up comic, actor, and writer from Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. After winning Philly’s Funniest at Helium Comedy Club in 2016 Shane was named an “Up-Next” Comic at Comedy Central’s 2019 Clusterfest in San Francisco and a “New Face” at the prestigious Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal. In 2021, Gillis released his debut comedy special Shane Gillis: Live in Austin on YouTube which has been viewed over 14 million times. Gillis is one-half of Patreon and Apple’s top 10 podcasts Matt and Shane’s Secret Podcast. He’s a regular guest on Sirius XM’s The Bonfire, Spotify’s The Joe Rogan Experience, and Barstool Sports’ KFC Radio.
Shane was a writer on Comedy Central’s Delco Proper and co-created, wrote, and starred in the YouTube hit sketch series Gilly & Keeves. IN DETAIL: Matt Rife joins the likes of Thomas Rhett, Chris Rock, Luke Combs, Shinedown, Toby Keith, New Kids On The Block, Bon Jovi, Taylor Swift, and more as the 41st inductee into the Mohegan Sun Arena Walk of Fame. Rife will be honored with an induction ceremony on Thursday, February 22nd that includes remarks by Mohegan executives and representation from the Mohegan Tribal Council, followed by the presentation of a star plaque outside of the Mohegan Sun Box Office. Recipient of the 2018 Just for Laughs Comedy Festival “Stand-Up Comedian Of The Year” Award
UNCASVILLE, CT (December 4, 2023) –– Famous Comedian and actor Jo Koy is adding Mohegan Sun Arena to his list of stops during his global tour. Koy hits the Arena stage on Sunday, March 24th for a 7:30pm show.

In 2022, Koy kicked off his Funny Is Funny World Tour by selling-out the Climate Pledge Arena (over 14,000 tickets) in his hometown of Seattle and ended the tour with a sold-out show at Tacoma Dome (over 19,000 tickets). Hannah Berner was born in Brooklyn, New York and emerged on the comedy scene by writing, directing, editing, and acting in videos on social media and writing viral tweets. She has two podcasts, Berner Phone and Giggly Squad with over 50 million combined downloads. She was a co-host on Bravo’s Chat Room, as well as a member of Bravo’s Summer House for three seasons, and has over 4 million followers across her social media platforms.
Through her viral digital series, Han on the Street, she has interviewed stars such as Jennifer Lawrence, Hailey Bieber, Priyanka Chopra, Kesha, and the Jonas Brothers. She currently is on a theater tour across America for her stand-up comedy. In 2022, she was named one of Just For Laughs “New Faces Of Comedy” in Montreal. She was recently named one of Variety’s “Top Ten Comics to Watch in 2023”.
Michael Blaustein
Michael Blaustein is an internationally touring headlining comedian, accomplished actor, and award-winning writer. Michael co-hosts a very popular podcast called Stiff Socks with comedian Trevor Wallace. Stiff Socks is ranked in the top 50 of all comedy podcasts on iTunes and Spotify. He has performed at over 200 colleges worldwide and has been on the Comedy Central on Campus Tour, The College Humor Tour, and The Oddball Comedy Fest. Michael has performed at prestigious festivals such as JFL 42 and The New York Comedy Festival.

Jessica Kirson
Jessica Kirson is a powerhouse on stage. She’s a hilariously relatable performer of sheer silliness, vulnerability, and ridiculous characters. Her countless comedic character videos have racked up over 200 million views on social media. Her audience is multigenerational, creating an excuse for large groups of friends and families to spend a night out together. In an era where only 10% of all touring comedians are female, Jessica stands out as one of the strongest comedians regardless of gender.
