Live performance in the Arena with special guest Steve Winwood
Carlos Santana’s Universal Tone Tour 2010 gets underway on June 30th with an initial North American leg running through early August. Carlos and the Santana Band will be joined on the road by special guest Steve Winwood, who will open the dates. The tour will be making a stop at Mohegan Sun Arena on Wednesday, July 21st at 7:00pm.

The Universal Tone Tour 2010 will feature hits from Santana’s four-decade-long career as well as songs from a brand-new studio album that Carlos Santana is currently putting finishing touches on. Santana’s most recent release was the 2010 reissue of Supernatural as a 2-CD Legacy Edition—featuring eleven previously-unissued bonus tracks—in celebration of the classic nine-time Grammy-winning album’s 10th anniversary.
Steve Winwood’s latest studio effort, Nine Lives, released in 2008, was his first solo album since 2003’s About Time. The set debuted at #12 on The Billboard 200 chart, selling about 26,000 copies during its first week in stores.

Rush – Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart – is without question one of the most inventive and compelling groups in Rock history, equally famed for both its virtuoso musicianship and provocative songwriting. The Time Machine Tour is an evening with Rush, where they will perform their classics, give a taste of the future and, for the first time ever, feature the Moving Pictures album live in its entirety. Rihanna, in the midst of her fourth critically-acclaimed album release Rated R, a smash #1 single with “Rude Boy” and a highly-anticipated upcoming international tour, has confirmed dates for her 2010 North American tour, Last Girl On Earth. The multi-platinum and Grammy award-winning superstar, who recently broke a Billboard record with her current #1 single “Rude Boy,” becoming the only female artist of the past decade to have six #1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States, will be joined by rising star Ke$ha. Maxwell & Jill Scott, two of R&B’s biggest names, are teaming up for a joint outing this spring which will be stopping at Mohegan Sun Arena on Monday, June 21st. The show begins at 7:00pm.

Two of the United Kingdom’s greatest musical exports, Yes & Peter Frampton, are returning to southeastern Connecticut for a performance at Mohegan Sun Arena on Wednesday, June 16th at 7:30pm.

A dominant force in Rock music for more than four decades, Yes has created some of Rock’s most enduring and compelling hits and has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide. Peter Frampton’s most recent studio album earned the veteran rocker a Grammy for “Best Pop Instrumental Album.” Fingerprints, which was released in 2006, marked Frampton’s first all-instrumental album and featured a handful of special guests, including Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts, former Stones bassist Bill Wyman and Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready and Matt Cameron.
