UNCASVILLE, CT (January 5, 2015) — Mohegan Sun is excited to announce that five-time “ACM Female Vocalist of the Year” winner, Miranda Lambert, is set to headline Mohegan Sun Arena on Saturday, April 11th for a 7:30pm concert. Fellow Country stars Justin Moore, Ashley Monroe and Jukebox Mafia will be special guests!

“We live a life so we can sing about it,” says Miranda Lambert, and it feels like a mission statement.
Consider all the living she’s done since she stomped onto the scene with Kerosene in 2005: she is the five-time reigning CMA and five-time “ACM Female Vocalist of the Year,” a Grammy winner with four award-winning “Albums of the Year” under her belt, and a happily married woman whose personal foundation, MuttNation, has raised millions of dollars for pet shelters across the country. Take in all that, and you suddenly realize that the little blonde spitfire from Lindale, Texas has grown up right before our eyes. With her fifth album, Platinum, which debuted at #1 on the all-genre Billboard 200 Album chart and Billboard’s Country Albums chart, she’s taking stock and turning the -more- Miranda Lambert, Pg. 2 page on where she’s been. “I look back at my twenties and everything that I did – I worked hard and I played hard, and I have all of that under my belt to sort of reflect on,” she says. “But I feel like when you hit 30, you have to hold yourself accountable. I need to own up to my own shit. I don’t have anything to hide, so whatever I’m going through, I want to sing about it – because somebody else is going through it too.”
Mohegan Sun Arena is now ranked consistently among the top venues in the world according to Billboard Magazine, Pollstar and Venues Today. It has won “Casino of The Year” at the Country Music Awards in 2008 & 2010 and in 2013, was voted “Arena Of The Year” at the G2E Global Gaming Conference in Las Vegas. Also in 2013, Mohegan Sun won “Casino of The Year” in 2 categories at the Academy of Country Music Awards. For more information on concerts and other great events visit Mohegan Sun. Davy Jones became a household name as a member of the made-for-TV band The Monkees. Jones sang lead vocals on many of The Monkees’ most famous hits, including “I Wanna Be Free” and “Daydream Believer.” He has been touring as a successful solo artist since the group disbanded in the late 60s. In 2008, Jones was named the “#1 teen idol of all time” by Yahoo Music.
Justin Moore recently became a Country music powerhouse with the release of his self-titled debut album earlier this year. So far, the album has spawned two successful singles, “Back That Thing up,” which was a Top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, followed by “Small Town USA,” which earned Moore his first #1 hit.
Funk and Soul Jazz saxophonist Maceo Parker is best known for his work with James Brown in the 60s, as well as Parliament-Funkadelic in the 70s. Parker was a prominent soloist on many of Brown’s hit recordings, and a key part of his band, playing alto, tenor and baritone saxophones. He is by now as well known for his own shows, as he has toured continuously under his own name since the early 90s and has built up a fan base on this touring alone.
Saving Abel released their self-titled, major label debut album on March 11, 2008. The album features the single “Addicted” which peaked at #2 on the U.S. Mainstream Rock chart. The band is currently out on their first headlining tour, performing at venues all throughout the United States. They will be joined by Pop Evil & Red as special guests.
Nine Days found success in the early 2000s. They released three independent albums in the 90s before their mainstream debut album, The Madding Crowd, was released in 2000. The band scored two hits in the U.S. from The Madding Crowd, “Absolutely (Story of a Girl,)” which reached #6 and “If I Am,” which reached #68.
They Might Be Giants are a two-time Grammy award-winning band consisting of members John Flansburgh, John Linnell, Marty Beller, Dan Miller and Danny Weinkauf. Formed in 1982, they are best known for an unconventional and experimental style of Alternative music. To date, the band has sold over 4 million records worldwide.
