Ranking amongst top concert venues in the world with major U.S. tours, sellouts and national awards
UNCASVILLE, CT (December 11, 2017) – Mohegan Sun Arena recorded yet another successful year of A-list national tours and national awards in 2017. Two major awards were “Prime Site” and “Casino of the Year,” bringing the total to 15 national awards for the Arena over nine years. Named in Connecticut Magazine as “Best of Connecticut 2017” for large entertainment venue, Mohegan Sun Arena continues to be one of the busiest venues in the world, and surpassed 11 million guests this year as well.
“I am blessed to have so many talented people who help put our entertainment brand on the world stage – they are the reason we have a world-class venue sitting right in our backyard,” said Tom Cantone, Sr. VP of Sports and Entertainment.
Along with recognitions, 2017 brought in multiple Grammy winners, Billboard chart toppers and Top Hot 100 artists with a record of 39 sellouts, as well as two major sport franchises, CT Sun and Black Wolves Lacrosse who both made the playoffs, filling in some of 165 dates drawing some 800,000 fans.
Among the celebrated artists and bands in 2017, one of the hottest tours includes Lady Gaga’s, “Joanne World Tour” which hit
Mohegan Sun Arena with two sold-out shows. The Arena also hosted other highly touted tours that sold-out within minutes including Ed Sheeran, Bon Jovi, Neil Diamond, Depeche Mode, Journey, Pentatonix, Backstreet Boys and Ariana Grande.

Witness: The Tour Comes To Mohegan Sun Arena on September 21st 
UNCASVILLE, CT (May 15, 2017) – Today, Katy Perry announced the June 9th release of her new album, Witness (Capitol Records), and an extensive arena tour. With Witness, Katy reflects on the changes in her own life and in the world around her, delivering songs that both challenge and inspire. The singles released thus far – the Platinum-certified “Chained to the Rhythm” featuring Skip Marley and the follow-up single, “Bon Appétit” featuring Migos – hint at the breadth of the musical and thematic elements found on Witness. The Arena’s powerhouse calendar so far in 2014 also helped boost the venue to #37 for all Arenas worldwide, In Pollstar Magazine’s mid-year rankings
UNCASVILLE, CT (August 4, 2014) – In Pollstar Magazine’s recently released mid-year report, Mohegan Sun Arena comes in ranking 11th for all Arenas in the U.S., regardless of size. Mohegan Sun Arena currently sits ahead of other big music venue forces such as The Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA, The Prudential Center in Newark, NJ and Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN. All of whom have capacities over 18,000.

Set to perform at Mohegan Sun Arena on July 7th; Tickets on sale February 28th
International superstar, Katy Perry, with special guest Capital Cities, will kick off the North American leg of her highly-anticipated PRISMATIC WORLD TOUR on June 22nd. As part of the 46-city tour presented by Goldenvoice, a division of AEG Live, Katy will visit Mohegan Sun Arena on Monday, July 7th at 7:00pm with special guest Capital Cities. She will be touring in support of PRISM, which debuted at #1 on The Billboard 200 and remains in the Top Ten three months after release. The platinum album has given Katy her biggest ever single with “Roar”, while “Dark Horse” just became her lucky 13th Top Ten hit on The Billboard Hot 100.
