UNCASVILLE, CT (January 13, 2025) – On Sunday, May 11th, Rock icon Gene Simmons and his solo band, the GENE SIMMONS BAND, will deliver a historic show at Mohegan Sun Arena.
The iconic bassist and his band’s tickets go on sale on Friday, January 17th via Ticketmaster.com at 10:00am. Subject to availability, Rock fans can begin purchasing tickets at the Mohegan Sun Box Office on Saturday, January 18th.
Gene Simmons is an international Rock legend and co-founder of KISS, America’s #1 gold record award-winning group of all time in all categories (RIAA). As a serial entrepreneur, Simmons has achieved success that reaches far beyond his music career, extending into television, film, publishing, merchandising, restaurants, consumer products and more. During his early musical career, Simmons was inspired to become a Rock star when he saw a televised performance by the Beatles. He put his first band together, The Missing Links, with classmates while attending Joseph Pulitzer Middle School. After middle school and throughout high school, Simmons formed several bands including The Long Island Sounds, and Bullfrog Bheer.
He met fellow KISS co-founder Paul Stanley in 1970 and they formed their first attempt at a band, Wicked Lester. Though the band developed a prominent following in the New York Rock scene, Simmons worked several odd jobs to make additional money, including a position as a 6th grade teacher in Spanish Harlem and serving as an assistant to an editor at Vogue magazine.
In the winter of 1972, with a desire to create the “ultimate” Rock band, not just “another” Rock band, Simmons and Stanley formed KISS with original band members Peter Criss and Paul “Ace” Frehley. Inspired by his love of comic books and horror films, Simmons conceived the concept of his face paint. The addition of elaborate costumes, frenetic stage performance and ostentatious concert effects catapulted KISS to international stardom and a coveted position as one of the most recognized Rock and Roll bands in the world. Since their inception, KISS has developed millions of fans around the world, also known as the KISS Army. With over 100 million CDs and DVDs sold worldwide, KISS continues to sell out stadiums and arenas around the world, breaking box-office records set by Elvis and The Beatles.
KISS was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2014 and, in 1999, received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In December of 2023, KISS held its last two concerts at Madison Square Garden in New York. Gene Simmons celebrated much success beyond KISS. Brown first revealed details of his fourth studio album The High Road yesterday on socials, where he shared the album cover, album title and album release date with fans. The only thing more recognizable than Ace Frehley’s signature “Spaceman” makeup is his guitar playing. Those thundering riffs and singable solos have enshrined him as one of the most influential, inspiring, and impactful musicians of all time. Among hundreds of accolades, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame® inducted him in 2014 as a Co-founder and the original lead guitarist of Kiss. As it turns out, the man who once sang “Shock Me” is as much of a livewire as ever in 2024 and beyond.
Slaughter
With over 30 years of Rock and Roll under their belt, Slaughter hit radio, MTV and the U.S. touring circuit like a tornado- coming seemingly out of nowhere to roll through everything in its path and turn it upside down. Touring the world with bands that they loved, Kiss, Ozzy, and others meant the good times were just a song away, and their first hit single, “Up All Night” certainly fit into that mold, their second chart-topper, “Fly To The Angels” was more representative of the spirituality and awareness that goes into most of the band’s music and lyrics. The creator of some of the finest Power-Pop of the ’80s, a Grammy-winning singer, songwriter, and musician who has sold 25 million albums and scored 17 U.S. Top 40 hits, including “Jessie’s Girl,” “Don’t Talk to Strangers,” “An Affair of the Heart,” I’ve Done Everything for You,” “Love Somebody,” and “Human Touch.” He’s an accomplished actor who has starred opposite Meryl Streep in the feature film “Ricki and the Flash,” gave a chameleonic performance as the creepy Dr. Irving Pitlor in HBO’s prestige drama “True Detective,” earned great reviews for his portrayal of Lucifer on the CW hit “Supernatural” and most recently played the insane Pastor Charles on FX’s worldwide hit series “American Horror Story.”
