Thomas Rhett Inducted Into Mohegan Sun Walk of Fame

Country Music Superstar is the 39th inductee

UNCASVILLE, CT (June 12, 2023) – On Friday, June 9th, Mohegan Sun honored multi-platinum Country artist Thomas Rhett as the 39th Walk of Fame inductee, ahead of his back-to-back sold-out shows at Mohegan Sun Arena. Tom Cantone, President of Sports and Entertainment at Mohegan, presented the chart-topping artist with the Walk of Fame star.

“We’re proud to make Thomas Rhett the latest member of Mohegan Sun’s Walk of Fame. Thomas Rhett started in our Wolf Den over 10 years ago, and has sold out six consecutive shows since,” Cantone said before introducing Rhett amongst an eruption of cheers and applause.

Thomas Rhett accepted the award in front of a large crowd of his most dedicated fans.

“This is a huge honor for me,” Thomas Rhett told the crowd after accepting the award.  “Mohegan Sun Arena has been a second home to me since I was about 21 years old. I appreciate all my fans in the Northeast, especially those at Mohegan Sun Arena who have supported my music since the beginning.”

Thomas Rhett performed in front of two consecutive sold-out crowds on Friday and Saturday evening as part of his Home Team Tour 23, with Cole Swindell and Nate Smith as show openers. These were Rhett’s fifth and sixth sold-out shows at Mohegan Sun Arena since first playing in 2010.

The Mohegan Sun Walk of Fame has honored artists like Taylor Swift, Bon Jovi, Luke Combs, Shinedown and many more long-time, sell-out acts that are enshrined outside of the Mohegan Sun Box Office forecourt.  The Walk of Fame award seeks to recognize individuals and organizations who have made significant contributions to the success of Mohegan Sun Arena as the Northeast’s premier entertainment destination. All the inductees into the Mohegan Sun Walk of Fame have their name engraved on a plaque that will be permanently placed at the entrance to Mohegan Sun Arena.

Chris Rock Inducted into Mohegan Sun Walk of Fame

Superstar comedian is the 37th inductee

Before his fourth sold-out show at Mohegan Sun Arena, Chris Rock was inducted into the Mohegan Sun Walk of Fame. Tom Cantone, President of Sports and Entertainment Worldwide for Mohegan, presented Rock with the honor in a private ceremony backstage. The Grammy and Emmy Award-winning comedian, actor, director, writer, and producer is the 37th inductee into the Mohegan Sun Walk of Fame.

“In a world that needs more laughter, how timely is it to induct Chris Rock, who is now forever enshrined into the Mohegan Sun Entertainment family,” said Tom Cantone, President of Sports and Entertainment Worldwide for Mohegan.

Rock performed to a sold-out crowd on Friday evening as part of his Ego Death World Tour. It was his fourth show at Mohegan Sun Arena since making his debut in 2008. All four of his shows at Mohegan Sun Arena have sold out.

Rock has won four Emmy Awards, three Grammy Awards and is a New York Times Best-Selling Author. In addition, he received two nominations at the 2016 Emmy Awards for “Outstanding Director for a Variety Special” for Amy Schumer: Live at the Apollo and “Outstanding Special Class Program” for the 88th annual Academy Awards.

Shinedown Inducted into Mohegan Sun Walk of Fame

The record-breaking Rock band is the 36th inductee

On Saturday, April 16th, Mohegan Sun honored the 36th inductee of the Walk of Fame, Shinedown, ahead of their sold-out show that evening. President of Sports and Entertainment at Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment, Tom Cantone, presented the record-breaking Rock band with the Walk of Fame star.

“They’ve broken every record – I can’t even list off the things they’ve done. 10 million records sold, billions of streams, they’re (everywhere) on the Billboard charts. They’re awesome and incredible,” Cantone said before introducing the band amongst an eruption of cheers and applause.

Shinedown band members Brent Smith, Zach Myers, Eric Bass, and Barry Kerch were in attendance to accept the award in front of a large crowd of their most dedicated fans.

“We love playing this Arena,” Myers told the crowd after accepting the award.  “It’s probably one of our most favorite arenas to play in, and I’m not just saying that. Everybody here has always been so amazing to us, and every time we come, you guys sell it out. Thank you very much, seriously. It means the world to us to come to this part of the world and have you guys show up,”

Shinedown To Be Inducted into Mohegan Sun’s Walk of Fame

Mohegan Sun is proud to announce that Shinedown will be the newest Walk of Fame inductee – the 36th group or individual to receive the honor. The members of Shinedown will be presented with a Walk of Fame star outside Mohegan Sun’s Box Office a few hours before their sold-out show on Saturday, April 16th in a public ceremony. Pentatonix Brought Holiday Cheer With Two Shows And Were Inducted Into Mohegan Sun Walk Of Fame

UNCASVILLE, CT (December 9, 2019) – On Saturday, December 7th, Mohegan Sun honored the 35th Walk of Fame star, Pentatonix.  The three-time Grammy award-winning and multi-platinum selling artist were presented with the Walk of Fame star outside of Mohegan Sun’s Box Office by Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment’s (MGE) President of Sports & Entertainment, Tom Cantone.  The induction kicked off the first night of their SiriusXM Presents: A Pentatonix Christmas Tour 2019 two night show.  Band members Scott Hoying, Mitch Grassi, Kirstin Maldonado and Matt Sallee accepted the award and stated, “This is very exciting as we have never been inducted into a Walk of Fame before…Hollywood Walk of Fame see you soon!”
