ABOUT SHAQUILLE O’NEAL: Shaquille O’Neal is widely regarded as one of the most dominant athletes of all time as well as one of the greatest centers in professional basketball history. O’Neal, a graduate of Louisiana State University, is one of the few pro players ever to reach the Finals with three different teams (Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat). He started his career with the Orlando Magic in 1992 and finished it with the Boston Celtics, retiring last year after 19 memorable seasons. During his career, “Shaq” would produce some of the most staggering numbers of any player to grace the hardwood as well as amassing countless accolades. He was named an all-star 15 times, a member of four professional Championship teams, 2-time scoring champ, 1992-1993 “Rookie of the Year” honors and holds claim to the 6th most total points in history with 28,596. O’Neal can now be seen regularly alongside colleagues and former basketball stars Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith and host Ernie Johnson on TNT’s Inside the NBA.

Welterweight division champ, “Irish” Micky Ward is set to take part in a free Signings & Sightings event. Ward will be greeting fans and signing autographs in The Shops at Mohegan Sun at 8:00pm on Friday, April 13th.

ABOUT MICKY:
Micky captured both the WBU Intercontinental Light Welterweight title and the WBU Light Welterweight title during his career in boxing. He also won the respect and admiration of many fans worldwide. The song “The Warrior’s Code” by the Punk Rock band Dropkick Murphys is dedicated to Micky Ward and his photograph appears on the cover of the album. Ward’s life is chronicled in a biography by Bob Halloran entitled Irish Thunder: The Hard Life and Times of Micky Ward. Ward’s trilogy with Arturo Gatti, the first of which took place at Mohegan Sun Arena, would become the cover of the video game Fight Night Round 3, on the PlayStation 2 and XBOX versions of the game. To top it all off, the movie “The Fighter” starring Mark Wahlberg as Micky Ward and Christian Bale as his half-brother, Dicky Eklund, recounts Ward’s climb to fame.

Louis Van Amstel of “Dancing with the Stars” joins Mohegan Sun on Wednesday, April 4th at 6:00pm for a free Signings 
& Sightings event
WHAT: Mohegan Sun is excited to present Louis Van Amstel of “Dancing with Stars” for a Signings & Sightings event on Wednesday, April 4th at 6:00pm. Held in The Shops at Mohegan Sun, Louis will be signing copies of his newest workout DVD LaBlast.
Immediately following his signing, Louis will take the stage and help emcee the Arthur Murray 100th anniversary celebrations – also taking place in The Shops at Mohegan Sun.

ABOUT DRITA: Drita D’Avanzo is the wife of Lee D’Avanzo, who federal prosecutors allege is the leader of a Bonanno and Colombo crime family farm team. While Drita’s husband is serving time in prison for bank robbery (for the second time), she is left alone raising their two young girls and freelancing as a make-up artist. Drita was raised in the projects of Staten Island after her family settled there from Albania. Under the aid of her hardnosed father who coached soccer, Drita would be invited to play for the Women’s National Soccer Team until she met her first love and decided against going. After a string of relationships, Drita met and fell in love with Lee. While pregnant with their first child, Lee would be sentenced to 8 years in prison for alleged bank robberies.
Drita realized during this time that she would need something to fall back on and that’s when she started her career as a make-up artist. She has since worked for various high-end cosmetic companies and plans to use her skills and initiative to one day develop her own cosmetic line.

Actors to take part in exclusive signing on December 2nd as part of Diva Fridays Celebration
WHAT: Mohegan Sun Signings & Sightings is thrilled to welcome Bronson Pelletier & Charlie Bewley, two of the stars from the Twilight saga for a special signing event in The Shops at Mohegan Sun. The actors will be greeting fans and signing autographs at 8:00pm and will also make a special appearance at the Diva Fridays dance party on the Patio of Todd English’s Tuscany on December 2nd.

ABOUT BRONSON: Bronson Pelletier is of Cree Métis descent and is originally from Vancouver, Canada. One of his big acting breaks came on the Canadian TV series, Renegadepress.com where he played the character Jack Sinclair from 2002-2008. Bronson is best known for playing the shape-shifting Quileute teen Jared in the popular vampire saga, Twilight.
ABOUT CHARLIE: Charlie Bewley made his major motion picture debut as the Volturi vampire “Demetri” in The Twilight Saga: New Moon followed by Eclipse and appears in both parts of the forthcoming Breaking Dawn films. Bewley also co-stars in the critically acclaimed Sundance Grand Jury winner Like Crazy, an improvised piece which tells the captivating story of a British college student who falls for an American whilst studying abroad – a romance wrenched by separation when she’s banned from the U.S. Bewley also has a key lead in the Russian/US collaboration Soldiers of Fortune as well as voicing the charter of a dingo in the forthcoming animated feature Outback. Additionally, he plays lead in the independent film Ecstasy, which explores the effects of addiction to a mysterious party drug.
