Mohegan Sun Launches Second Crafty Slice Location, and a Seasonal Tiki Bar Pop-Up for the Summer

 Mohegan Sun launched The Crafty Slice last summer near The Sun Patio in Casino of the Earth, and is excited to announce a second Crafty Slice location in Casino of the Sky has officially opened. Mohegan Sun will also open a vibrant tropical themed Tiki Bar Pop-Up in the Sky Tower hotel lobby, offering guests even more ways to enjoy summertime drinks and a great vibe. Additionally, Mohegan Sun’s Sun Patio offers guests a relaxing and sleek outdoor bar open Thursday through Sunday!

The new Crafty Slice eatery expands on the popular concept’s signature offerings — a variety of pizza, craft beer, and other delicious food options on the go. The second location features an expanded menu, additional seating, and exclusive summer specials. Highlighted menu options include pizza by the slice starting at $5, from cheese to vegetarian to pepperoni and combo slices with sausage, bacon and meatball. Other grab-and-go offerings include churro bites, Sabrett’s Hot Dogs and the famous Walking Taco.

Complementing this launch is the introduction of an all-new summertime Tiki Bar, located in Mohegan Sun’s Sky Tower lobby. Opening on Thursday, June 26th, The Tiki Bar will play island-influenced tunes and serve exotic cocktails like the Lava Flow (Bacardí Coconut, Fruitful Strawberry, Fruitful Banana, Pineapple & Orange Juice) and The Pineapple Upside-Down Cake (Jim Beam Pineapple Whiskey, Orange Juice, Lemon Sour, Cherry Float). The wine list includes though is not limited to Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir and highlighted beers include Kona Big Wave Golden Ale and Allagash. Non-Alcoholic options include the Social Mai Tai and Töst (Sparkling White, Cranberry Ginger).

Mohegan Sun’s second Crafty Slice location is now open in Casino of the Sky, located near The Cabaret Theatre. Hours are Wednesday – Thursday, 5:00pm – Midnight; Friday and Saturday late afternoon through 3:00am and on Sundays, Noon to 9:00pm.

Mohegan Sun Opens Late-Night Hotspot: “The Crafty Slice”

Dining space offering pizza, salads, grinders, grab-and-go snacks and more is now open across from the Sun Patio in Casino of the Earth

Mohegan Sun is pleased to announce The Crafty Slice is officially open! The Crafty Slice offers freshly made pizza that is perfect for guests who are on the go and those who are looking for some late-night eats. The Crafty Slice is conveniently located at the Summer Entrance, right across from Mohegan Sun’s newly renovated outdoor entertainment venue, the Sun Patio.

“We wanted to open another quick bite option that is close to our two award-winning venues, Mohegan Sun Arena and the Wolf Den, and is also available for our late-night guests,” said Jeff Hamilton, president and general manager at Mohegan Sun. “We are thrilled that The Crafty Slice meets those goals, and it’s also convenient for guests enjoying more than 30 free shows at our new outdoor attraction, the Sun Patio!”

Pizza slices at The Crafty Slice are available starting at $5 each, and options range from vegetarian to pepperoni and a meat lover’s combo slice with pepperoni, sausage, chicken and meatballs. Guests can also snag grab-and-go options that include premade salads, grinders, snacks and the Walking Taco – a bag of Dorito or Frito chips topped with lettuce, tomato, housemade chili, queso, and sour cream. Those looking to fulfill a sweet tooth can try the specialty dessert style pizza or tasty churro bites served with a chocolate dipping sauce. Refreshing beverage options include beer, ready-to-drink cocktails, energy drinks and boozy slushies like the Casimigos Margarita. Signature, locally produced Mohegan-branded drinks, Jackpot Juice Hazy IPA, a collaboration with Two Roads Brewing Co. and All In Orange Whip, a collaboration with Waypoint Spirits, are also available.

The Crafty Slice is open Monday & Thursday from 5:00pm – Midnight, Fridays from 5:00pm – 3:00am, Saturdays from 3:00pm – 3:00am and Sundays from Noon – Midnight.

Other exciting dining additions are on the way for Mohegan Sun, including The Shed, located  next to BALLO Italian Restaurant, opening this summer. Beauty & Essex, a TAO Group restaurant located in Casino of the Sky near novelle, will also open closer to this upcoming holiday season.

Mohegan Sun’s Signings & Sightings Presents Five For Fighting

John Ondrasik of Five For Fighting will meet fans following his show with special guest Angel Taylor in the Wolf Den on October 23rd
UNCASVILLE, CT (October 15, 2009)— Spin Street and Mohegan Sun welcome Grammy nominated, platinum-selling John Ondrasik of Five For Fighting for a special appearance and signing  event of  his latest release. This free personal appearance and signing will take place on the Spin Street Stage in The Shops at Mohegan Sun immediately following the performance with special guest Angel Taylor in the Wolf Den on Friday, October 23rd at 8:00pm.  All Signings & Sightings are free and open to the public. 
ABOUT THE ARTIST
The spirited songwriter, singer and pianist John Ondrasik has had two platinum-selling albums including the 2000 release and hugely successful America Town, which featured the Grammy-nominated smash “Superman (It’s Not Easy).”  Five For Fighting followed up America Town with The Battle For Everything LP which featured his second biggest hit to date, “100 Years.”  Their new album entitled Slice was released on October 13th and features the single “Chances” which was recently performed live on CBS’s The Early Show.  Five For Fighting’s new CD Slice is available now at Spin Street as well as on the day of the event.
