WHAT: Mohegan Sun’s Reality Check will continue to showcase the best in dancing
when Travis Wall, choreographer and guest Judge of So You Think You Can Dance, heads to Mohegan Sun with special guests from past seasons Lauren Froderman and Kayla Radomski. This free, live event will take place on Friday, September 30th and will feature a dance performance at 7:00pm
followed by a signing event at 7:45pm.

ABOUT TRAVIS: Travis Wall began dancing at the age of three at his mother’s dance studio in Virginia Beach, Virginia. At 12, he was already Broadway-bound, cast in the show The Music Man. Wall first appeared as a contestant in 2006 on So You Think You Can Dance’s 2nd season when he was 18. He blew away the judges and viewers alike, walking away with a 2nd place finish. In fact, Wall danced in a Mia Micheals choreographed piece “The Bench” that later won Michaels the Emmy for “Outstanding Choreography.” In 2009, Wall returned to the show, this time as a choreographer for the contestants. In the past 2 years, he has created some of the most unforgettable routines in So You Think You Can Dance history. In 2011, Wall was honored to receive an Emmy Award nomination for his work on season 7.
ABOUT LAUREN: Nicknamed “LoFro” and “Frodie” by her friends in Phoenix, AZ, Lauren Froderman has been dancing since age 3. Years of dedication and training paid off in a big way when at age 18, she was voted “America’s Favorite Dancer” and became one of the youngest contestants to win on the hit reality show So You Think You Can Dance in its 7th season. Her expertise lies in contemporary jazz but it was her ability to quickly learn and perfect a wide variety of challenging dance styles that proved to win over the hearts of not only the panel of judges but of thousands of fans across the globe.
ABOUT KAYLA: Also hailing from a contemporary jazz background, dancer Kayla Radomski is an incredibly gifted performer who became part of the top 20 dancers in the fifth season of So You Think You Can Dance. Kayla was adored by fans and judges over the duration of the season, especially Nigel Lythgoe, who requested a repeat performance of the memorable piece titled “Addiction,” which she did in fact perform at the live finale with partner Kūpono.

The legendary Jerry West will take part in Mohegan Sun’s Winning Authors series on Saturday, October 29th
Mohegan Sun is pleased to announce that former NBA great and now author of a brand new autobiography, Jerry West, will take part in Mohegan Sun’s Winning Authors program on Saturday, October 29th. The event, which is free and open to the public, will kick off at 3:00pm in The Cabaret Theatre with a live discussion followed by a book signing in The Shops at Mohegan Sun at 4:00pm. West’s book, West By West: My Charmed, Tormented Life will be available at Spin Street as the event nears. West joins a list of outstanding authors that have participated in this program, including Marcia Clark, Harlan Coben, Sue Grafton, Nora Roberts, Robin Cook, Lee Child and John Saul.
ABOUT JERRY WEST
Jerry West had one of the greatest NBA careers of all-time and is widely touted as one of the best pure shooters ever. He played his whole tenure with the Los Angeles Lakers from 1960 – 1974. Before his NBA days he was an All-American at West Virginia University. His name can be found on the very short list of great offensive players who have scored over 25,000 career points which breaks down to a staggering 27 points per game average. This average currently ranks 5th in NBA history. He would go on to do great work in the Lakers front office after his playing days, where from 1982-2000 he served as General Manager, playing a vital role in putting together 5 championship teams during that time frame.

ABOUT FRANKIE BALLARD: Few artists in the history of Country music have risen from obscurity to prominence with the speed of guitar slinger Frankie Ballard. On his debut album, Ballard brought a Bluesy, Rocking edge to the Country scene. His talents as a vocalist, songwriter, instrumentalist and showman have already made him one of the genre’s most memorable new personalities. His first single, “Tell Me You Get Lonely,” became a Top 5 video chart success. His first club tour was with big-time hit maker Uncle Kracker. The first of his songs to be recorded by another artist was by Billy Currington. All of this took place in 2010 and Ballard hasn’t slowed down since. At the start of 2011 he released his second radio single “A Buncha Girls” and soon after got the call to open for Taylor Swift’s U.S. Arena Tour. ABOUT KYM: Dancing with the Stars fans got their first glimpse of Kym Johnson when paired with Jerry Springer as they reached a 5th place finish in season 3. She finished even higher the very next season at 2nd place with partner Joey Fatone and in season 9 she reached the top spot with Donny Osmond as they took home the Mirror Ball Trophy. Johnson is the only professional dancer to hold the title of two Mirror Ball Trophies, both in her homeland of Australia and USA. Her success on the popular reality show is no fluke as Johnson began ballroom dancing at age 13. Johnson made her Broadway debut in “Burn The Floor” in 2009, a dream come true for her. Johnson was just named the season 12 winner with partner and Pittsburgh Steelers star wide receiver Hines Ward.
ABOUT DMITRY:
Dmitry has established himself as one of the most recognized Ballroom Dancers and Choreographers in the United States and around the world. He is one of the star Professionals on Dancing With The Stars, an Emmy Nominated Choreographer for his work on So You Think You Can Dance and one of America’s favorite dancers. Dmitry’s dancing career began in the Ballroom at the age of 12 in his hometown of Rostov-on-Don in Russia. After moving to the United States in 1999, he studied in both America and United Kingdom and began competing and winning many world famous ballroom completions around the globe representing the United States. In 2006, Dmitry’s dance career took a different course as he joined the hit TV show So You Think You Can Dance and became one of America’s Top 10 dancers. He made the jump to Dancing with the Stars in 2009, paired with Mya and received record breaking votes making him one of the most popular dancers on the show. Dmitry has made numerous TV appearances that include the likes of the Ellen Degeneres Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Good Morning America, Live with Regis and Kelly and Larry King Live, plus many more.
