Festive, family-friendly event also kicks off the Countdown to Cheer program, filled with deals, food & beverage specials and jolly surprises
UNCASVILLE, CT (November 14, 2023) – Mohegan Sun is welcoming the holiday season with the First Annual Sun Patio Tree Lighting on Friday, December 1st. From 5:00pm – 7:00pm, guests of all ages can witness pure magic as Mohegan Sun lights up the night at the newly-renovated Sun Patio with an event hosted by shining star and true American legend, Frankie Valli! Delectable treats and complimentary hot chocolate, tea and coffee will be available. A decadent Baileys Chocolate Cocktail will also be offered at the Sun Patio Bar. Carolers will be on hand singing Christmas classics. Plus, the family can gather for a photo with Santa! This event is free and will take place rain or shine.
After his appearance at the First Annual Sun Patio Tree Lighting, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons will bring their iconic hits to Mohegan Sun Arena for “The Last Encores” tour at 8:00pm. Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons are one of the most beloved groups in Pop music history, selling more than 175 million records worldwide. Known for songs like “Sherry”, “Walk Like A Man”, “Big Girls Don’t Cry” and more, the group continues to tour throughout the US and abroad to packed houses of thrilled fans from multiple generations. Mohegan Sun Arena has a holiday entertainment lineup that guests won’t want to miss. novelle steps into the Halloween scene with a three-night extravaganza. The Halloween edition of Famous Fridays at Mohegan Sun’s newest ultra-lounge goes down Friday, October 25th and includes an open costume contest with over $1000 in prizes ready to be dished out. Popular DJ Vito G. will also be in the building to help get the party started. The Story Saturdays open costume contest on October 26th offers $2,500 in prizes with music by DJ Mark Anthony. And finally, Industry Thursdays takes over Halloween night, with $5,000 in prizes given out to the winners of the open costume contest and music by Chase B.

A special music competition that will award up to $5,000 takes place in the Wolf Den November 6th – December 11th
WHAT: Local acts with big dreams of performing in an award-winning venue where Luke Bryan, Barenaked Ladies, Pentatonix and more have taken the stage will have their shot this fall. Mohegan Sun & Hall Communications are excited to present Locals Live 2019 inside the Wolf Den – one lucky band or musician could be chosen to perform live at Mohegan Sun, win a grand prize of $5,000 cash and earn the title of Locals Live 2019 Champion! Submissions can be made online through the WCTY website.
WHEN/WHERE: Every Wednesday from November 6th – December 11th (excluding November 27th) from 8:00pm – 10:00pm in the Wolf Den.
IN DETAIL:
Locals Live is back! Mohegan Sun & Hall Communications are hosting another exciting five-week music competition every Wednesday from November 6th – December 11th (excluding November 27th) from 8:00pm – 10:00pm. Sixteen local bands and musicians – four per week – will compete live at the Wolf Den. The four bands/musicians that receive the most overall votes from the audience will advance to the finals on December 11th, where they will perform in front of expert judges to vie for the $5,000 grand prize and the title of Locals Live 2019 Champion. Second place receives $1,000.
Guests are encouraged to come out to the Wolf Den and vote for their favorite! The first rounds will include a text-to-vote competition from 8:00pm – 10:00pm. Voters can text in their vote up to a maximum of five times, and the talent who receives the most votes on a given performance night will proceed to the final round on December 11th. During the finals, there will be a guest and celebrity judges to assist in determining the winner in addition to the text-to-vote influence. The winner will be announced on December 11th. Admission to Locals Live is free, and guests can enjoy $3.00 Miller Lite and Coors Light. Must be 21+ to attend.

Hash House A Go Go will offer a few special Father’s Day brunch options like the boss’s breakfast sandwich—a traditional breakfast sandwich with eggs, bacon, pepperjack cheese, fried leeks and the HHAGG twist with ghostpepper aioli, served with crispy potatoes for $13.99.
