Celebration featuring a benefit concert headlined by Trace Adkins, career services and so much more November 11th
UNCASVILLE, CT (May 4, 2015) – Career fairs, workshops, a charity concert and so much more – the possibilities are endless at the inaugural Vets Rock at Mohegan Sun this November. Hosted by Til Duty is Done and Mohegan Sun the day will feature special services and activities for veterans and their families – as well as a benefit concert headlined by Country music superstar, Trace Adkins.
Career Fair, Workshops and Auction
Vets Rock is taking over Mohegan Sun’s Convention Center. All convention rooms and the full 38,000 square-foot Uncas Ballroom will be converted into a conference space featuring a career fair, resume assistance, professional suit fittings and more.
Half of the Convention Center will host the Hiring Our Heroes Workshop with interview prep and resume assistance. Guests will also have the opportunity to be fitted for a professional suit by Suiting Warriors. From 10:30am to 5:00pm, veterans are invited to take part in the career fair featuring at least 100 employers from throughout the state. The career fair will take place in the other half of the Convention Center. A family area will be available where veterans can bring their children while they explore the services available.
On Wednesday, a variety of other services will be available throughout the day in the upper level of the Convention Center for veterans to take advantage of including art therapy, yoga, music therapy, VA claim representatives, veteran legal affairs and much more.
Also on Wednesday, November 11th in The Shops at Mohegan Sun, there will be a special art show and auction headlined by a custom piece designed by John Herz. Additional programming will continually be added so please be sure to check mohegansun.com for the latest programming for the Vets Rock event.
Vets Rock Concert
The celebration goes out with a bang when Trace Adkins headlines a special Vets Rock Concert inside Mohegan Sun Arena at 7:30pm. The concert, emceed by Tony Orlando, will also feature special guests Dropkick Murphys and Madison Rising. Tickets for this event are $49.00 and $29.00 and go on sale May 16th through Ticketmaster and the Mohegan Sun Box Office. A special presale for veterans will begin on May 4th. To participate and receive a presale password, register for the Service Expo or as a job-seeker for the Hiring Our Heroes job fair.

Longtime Mohegan Sun performer adds his name to the Walk of Fame
Mohegan Sun is pleased to announce that Tony Orlando, one of the most renowned entertainers, has be
en inducted into Mohegan Sun’s Walk of Fame. This places Tony among an elite group of entertainers with stars in front of Mohegan Sun Arena. His induction took place Saturday, September 11th in The Shops concourse in front of a large crowd of faithful fans. Tony Orlando is the 21st star to be inducted into Mohegan Sun’s Walk of Fame. Orlando was extremely honored and gracious as he accepted his star on the Walk of Fame and said to fans, “Mohegan Sun has been the most beautiful, finest and wonderful place to work in show business.”
Tony Orlando hit superstardom when he formed the Pop group Dawn with Telma Hopkins and Joyce Vincent Wilson. Their first big hit was the timeless “Tie A Yellow Ribbon (Round The Ole Oak Tree),” followed by classics like “Knock Three Times” and “Candida.” Throughout his prolific and versatile career, Tony has had five #1 hits, sold millions of records and has even starred in a Broadway show.

IN DETAIL: Prior to his performance in Mohegan Sun Arena on September 11th, Tony Orlando will be the 21st entertainer inducted into Mohegan Sun’s Walk of Fame. Tony Orlando has entertained in all three venues at Mohegan Sun including an amazing run in The Cabaret Theatre selling over 17,500 tickets alone in his stretch of shows from 2002 through 2008. He played the Arena in September of 2007 and is excited to take the Arena stage again on Saturday, September 11th at 8:00pm. This special induction ceremony will take place in The Shops concourse at Mohegan Sun.
This award seeks to recognize those individuals who have made significant contributions to the success of Mohegan Sun as the Northeast’s premier entertainment destination. All of the individuals inducted into the Mohegan Sun Walk of Fame will have their name engraved on a plaque that will be permanently placed at the entrance to Mohegan Sun Arena.

Tony Orlando is back performing in the Arena on September 11th
Tony Orlando, a well-known attraction at Mohegan Sun, returns to the stage for a special performance in the Arena on Saturday, September 11th at 8:00pm.
Tickets are $20.00 and go on sale Friday, August 6th at 10:00am through Ticketmaster.
