Mohegan Sun Arena Ranked #1 Casino Venue Worldwide

The Arena continues to rank among the top venues in the world

UNCASVILLE, CT (January 24, 2017) – National industry trade publications Pollstar Magazine, Billboard Magazine and Venues Today recently released their 2016 Year End Special issues, which reports the top selling tours and top venues across the globe, and all have ranked Mohegan Sun Arena among the top concert venues in the world. With one of the most successful years in its history, Mohegan Sun Arena drew over 700,000 people in 2016, making it the top casino venue in the world, as well as the 39th ranked concert stop worldwide and 17th nationally for all size venues.

Finishing in the top 3 for venues of its size nationwide according to Venues Today, the Arena places itself in the company of arenas like The Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA, Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Philips Arena in Atlanta, The Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. and Madison Square Garden in New York, NY, all of which have capacities of over 15,000. Mohegan Sun Arena also finishes #1 for all of New England in Pollstar’s 2016 ranks.

The 2017 calendar is starting to heat up with 80% of the concerts currently on sale already sold-out. Artists scheduled to perform this year include Miranda Lambert on February 4th, Ariana Grande on February 17th, Sting on March 9th, Florida Georgia Line on March 10th & 11th, Bon Jovi on April 1st, Chris Rock on April 22nd, Eric Church on April 27th & 28th, The Weeknd on June 2nd, Neil Diamond on June 11th and New Kids On The Block on July 6th.  More information on these concerts and more can be found at Mohegan Sun!

Mohegan Sun Arena is now ranked consistently among the top venues in the world according to Billboard Magazine, Pollstar and Venues Today. It has won “Casino of The Year” at the Country Music Awards in 2008 & 2010 and in 2013, was voted “Arena Of The Year” at the G2E Global Gaming Conference in Las Vegas.  Mohegan Sun Arena was also ranked among the top 10 arena venues in the nation for 2014, regardless of size. In 2015, Mohegan Sun took home the IEBA award for “Casino of the Year.”  Mohegan Sun also won “Casino of the Year” in 2 categories at the 2013 & 2016 Academy of Country Music Awards. Mohegan Sun Arena Is #1 In Recent Mid-Summer Rankings

The award-winning venue takes the top spot in Venues Today for all arenas of its size between June 16th and July 15th

UNCASVILLE, CT (September 8, 2015) – With a top-notch mid-Summer lineup that included the likes of Shania Twain, Def Leppard, Idina Menzel, Dancing With The Stars, John Fogerty, Kelly Clarkson and Barenaked Ladies, Mohegan Sun Arena earned the top stop in concert and event gross from June 16th through July 15th for all venue’s in the world, at capacities’ between 5,001 and 10,000 seats, as reported by industry trade publication, Venues Today.

Venue’s Today also recently released its mid-year Top Stops for 2015 and Mohegan Sun Arena is in the top 15 for all USA Arena’s in addition to the top 50 in the world, regardless of venue size.   And by the time 2015 comes to a close, it’s likely that this number will climb, with Nick Jonas headlining the Arena on September 11th, Of Monster’s And Men set for September 26th, Five Finger Death Punch & Papa Roach on October 8th, Joe Walsh on October 16th, Rick Martin on October 18th, Darius Rucker on October 24th, The Weeknd on November 14th, Shinedown & Breaking Benjamin on November 19th and many more.
On Friday, September 18th, Mohegan Sun Arena will host an exclusive Best of 90s Concert as well, featuring Boyz II Men, who 23 years ago had their hit “End of the Road,” atop the Billboard 100 for 13 weeks! Also on the lineup is Wilson Philips, En Vogue, Coolio, Freedom Williams of C and C Music Factory, Shock G of Digital Underground and hosted by none other than Ed Lover.
