Mohegan Sun’s Poker Room, located in Casino of the Earth, reopened 6 of its 33 tables this morning, and will feature no more than 7 players per table
UNCASVILLE, CT (December 29, 2020) – Mohegan Sun Poker has made its return
and will be open daily from 10:00am – 2:00am. With health & safety being the top priority, the Poker Room reopens at under one third of its total tables, will feature a max of 7 players at a table at once and will incorporate safety shields for players and dealers. Spectators, as well as food, will not be permitted in the Poker Room, and guests must sanitize hands with easily accessible hand sanitizer before touching cards.
The Mohegan Sun Poker Room temporarily closed down in mid-March 2020, along with Mohegan Sun as a whole, due to the pandemic. Mohegan Sun, after investing more than $1 million in health and safety protocols across property, reopened to the public on June 1st. The return of Poker at Mohegan Sun will not immediately feature promotions and tournaments, though updates will become available in the near future. Additional details and safety measures include:
- Both guests and team members are required to wear protective masks in the Poker Room, as is required across all of Mohegan Sun.
- Physical distancing will be instituted and monitored.
- Polycarbonate dividers will be used on all active poker tables.
- Cards will be removed and sanitized at regular intervals.
- A player’s seat and section will be cleaned after they end their play.
- Sanitizing dispensers will be located throughout the Mohegan Sun Poker Room.
- The Mohegan Sun Poker Room is smoke-free, spacious and well ventilated.
The most regular cash game offering in the Mohegan Sun Poker Room will currently be limit and no limit Texas Hold ’Em, though other popular offerings include 7 Card Stud and Omaha, among others. The $50,000 Guarantee Texas Hold’Em Tournament will Have a Final Table on Saturday, January 4th
UNCASVILLE, CT (December 9, 2019) – Mohegan Sun Poker is
excited to announce the first Texas Hold’Em tournament of 2020 when the “Holiday Hangover Tournament” arrives on Thursday, January 2nd. Taking place in the Mohegan Sun Poker Room, now located in the Hall of Lost Tribes in Casino of the Earth, the tournament will feature three flights across two days, finishing with a final day on Saturday, January 4th. The buy-in is $230.00 and players can register at the Mohegan Sun Poker Room.
In the $50,000 guarantee “Holiday Hangover Tournament,” players must make the final day (January 4th) to be in the money, where the field will net out to approximately 12%. Blinds will also increase every 30 minutes, after starting at 100/100. Additionally, players who show up in the first level will receive a bonus of 5,000 in chips!

DeepStacks Poker Tour, the North American poker series featuring the game’s top pros playing in affordable buy-in tournaments, has partnered with the East Coast’s premier entertainment and gaming destination, Mohegan Sun, to deliver a series of championship poker events.
Under this deal, the DEEPSTACKS POKER TOUR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP AT MOHEGAN SUN will be held December 1-3, 2012. The $2500 buy-in event features a $500,000 guarantee and has already drawn commitments from DeepStacks Pros and World Series of Poker champions Mike “The Mouth” Matusow and Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi, as well as WPT Champions Randal “RandAllIn” Flowers and Justin “Boosted J” Smith.
The DeepStacks Poker Tour Mohegan Sun National Championship will be the final tournament of the 11-day series at Mohegan Sun, running from Nov. 23 – Dec. 3, featuring 32 events The final table will be televised regionally, with announcer Joe Stapleton alongside analyst and WSOP bracelet winner Tristan “Cre8ive” Wade.
The winner of each DeepStacks Poker Tour event earns a seat to the DSPT National Championship at Mohegan Sun.

ABOUT BETH: Beth Shak has been playing poker for seven years, starting out on Full Tilt Poker’s website for fun and gradually using real money when she became more confident with the game. $250,000 Summer Showdown to be held July 7th – July 10th
Mohegan Sun is set to kick off the $250,000 Summer Showdown Poker Tournament on Thursday, July 7th in Mohegan Sun’s Convention Center. The four-day tournament will feature various poker events with affordable buy-ins as well as a $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em $125,000 Guaranteed Main Event on Saturday, July 9th.
The action starts on Thursday, July 7th at 11:00am with a $440.00 buy-in, No-Limit Hold’em tournament featuring a $50,000 Guarantee. Also on July 7th, a $180.00 Bounty with a $10,000 Guarantee is set to take place at 6:00pm.
On Friday, July 8th, the $300.00 No-Limit Hold’em $25,000 Guarantee will begin at 11:00am followed by a $120.00 No-Limit Hold’em, $10,000 Guarantee tournament at 6:00pm.
The Main Event kicks off on Saturday, July 9th at 11:00am with the $1,000 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em, $125,000 Guarantee. A $180.00 Bounty Tournament also takes place on the 9th, beginning at 6:00pm.
The final day of the showdown is Sunday, July 10th and it will feature the biggest Bounty tournament of the week with the $330.00 Bounty “Deep Stack” at 11:00am with a $20,000 Guarantee. The last tournament will start at 3:00pm with a $250.00 buy-in No-Limit 6 Max.
Weekly Satellite Qualifying Tournaments for Mohegan Sun’s Summer Showdown Poker Tournament are currently in progress and will run up until the tournament kicks off on July 7th.
