Uncas Ballroom set to host special party for the 135th annual Kentucky Derby

UNCASVILLE, CT (April 6, 2009) – Celebrate the 135th annual “Run for the Roses” at Mohegan Sun on Saturday, May 2nd. A special party will be hosted in the Uncas Ballroom beginning at 10:00am. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy the race and get some expert advise from some of horse racing’s finest minds – all while enjoying some tasty treats prepared by Mohegan Sun’s all-star culinary team.

Picking that winning horse can be a daunting task.  That’s why here at Mohegan Sun we like to have a couple aces in the hole, otherwise known as horse racing experts Jim Mazur, President of Progressive Handicapping, Inc and author of The Triple Crown Undercard Handicapper 2007, and WEEI sports radio host Mike Mutnansky.

All guests who make a $25.00 wager will receive an official pass to the Derby Buffet or a Kentucky Derby festival souvenir (while supplies last).  Advance wagering will also be available on Thursday, April 30th and Friday, May 1st for guests who would like to get their picks in early.

Guests are encouraged to arrive early for Mohegan Sun’s Kentucky Derby 2009 Party in the Uncas Ballroom as space is limited and available on a “first-come, first served” basis.  Seating will be limited to the first 1,000 customers.  Additional standing room will be available but will be limited.  Must be 21 or older to participate.
