Mohegan Sun celebrates its10th annual Sun WineFest on January 25 – 27, 2013
Mohegan Sun is excited to celebrate its 10th annual Sun WineFest on January 25, 26 & 27, 2013.  Throughout theweekend, featured events will include the Sun WineFest Grand Tasting, Bourbon Tasting, Elite Cru Tasting, Celebrity Chef Dine Around and Bubbles & Bon Bons. Tickets go on sale today, Monday, August 27th, for all events through Ticketmaster, the Mohegan Sun Box Office and sunwinefest.com.
Sun WineFest Grand Tasting
The main event of the weekend, the Sun WineFest Grand Tasting, will take place in the Convention Center on Saturday, January 26th and Sunday, January 27th from Noon to 5:00pm each day.
Over the course of the two days, the Grand Tasting will have something for everyone to enjoy no matter what their tastes may be. Wine and beer aficionados can choose from over 1,000 brands or enjoy tastings of specialty sponsor spirits. If your preference is food, signature dishes from the region’s most highly rated restaurants will be available for sampling*.
Saturday and Sunday’s Grand Tasting will also feature celebrity chef demonstrations and fun-filled contests on the Main Culinary Stage.
Tickets are $80.00 for Saturday’s one-day pass, $70.00 for Sunday’s one-day pass and $125.00 for a weekend pass to both Saturday and Sunday’s Grand Tasting.
*There will be a nominal charge for the sampling of signature dishes – a portion of the proceeds benefits Channel 3 Kids Camp.
Bourbon Tasting
Nothing kicks off Sun WineFest 2013 better than “America’s Native Spirit” bourbon. Beam Global Spirits & Wine, Plan B Burger Bar and AVO Cigars join forces to bring you an evening of bourbon history. On Friday, January 25th at Sunburst Buffet from 6:00pm to 9:00pm, experience Plan B’s bourbon inspired menu paired with a variety of fine bourbons. Then, finish the night off with a premium cigar sampling from AVO Cigars.
Tickets are $90.00 per person.
Elite Cru Tasting
The Elite Cru Tasting is an exceptional wine-tasting event featuring the “best-of-the-best” vintages from around the world. Meet the winemakers and learn the principles behind them in The Cabaret Theatre on Saturday, January 26th from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. This truly distinctive event features a raw bar hosted by Island Creek Oysters, shrimp from Mazzetta Company and specialty cheeses from igourmet.com. Guests will also receive a $50.00 gift certificate to enjoy extensive offerings from igourmet.com.
Tickets are $200.00 per person and include a Saturday Grand Tasting ticket and $50.00 gift certificate for igourmet.com.
Celebrity Chef Dine Around
On Saturday, January 26th enjoy the Celebrity Chef Dine Around as world-class chefs including Bobby Flay, Todd English, Robert Irvine and Elizabeth Falkner host a night of amazing cuisine. Walk around the Uncas Ballroom from 8:00pm to 11:00pm and watch these culinary masters at live cooking stations. Also, enjoy a pairing of premium wine or beer to complement each dish.
Tickets are $185.00 per person.
All Things Food With Bobby Flay
Get to know the cooking secrets of one of the most popular chefs today, Bobby Flay! Join us when Bobby brings his Emmy Award-winning talent to The Cabaret Theatre on Sunday, January 27th from 11:00am to Noon. The afternoon will feature a high-energy cooking demonstration followed by a question and answer session, all hosted by the household name who appears on the Food Network shows Iron Chef America, Throwdown! with Bobby Flay, Bobby Flay’s Barbecue Addiction and Grill It! with Bobby Flay.
Tickets are $50.00 per person and include a pre-signed copy of Bobby Flay’s Burgers, Fries & Shakes.
Bubbles & Bon Bons
Top off your weekend like any fine meal – with dessert and champagne! At Bubbles & Bon Bons from 6:00pm to 9:00pm in The Cabaret Theatre on Sunday, January 27th, enjoy decadent desserts, luxurious champagne, delightful entertainment and the chance to mingle among some of the chefs that have made the weekend incredible! Join us as we conclude Sun WineFest 2013 in style.
