Multi-talented performer will rock the Arena on December 31st

Cyndi Lauper will make a special trip this New Year’s Eve to Mohegan Sun Arena as she brings in 2013 with a variety of her infectious chart-topping hits on Monday, December 31st at 7:30pm.
Tickets are $30.00 and go on sale Friday, October 12th through Ticketmaster at 10:00am.  Ticketmaster customers may log on to ticketmaster.com; call Ticketmaster’s national toll free Charge By Phone number 1.800.745.3000; or visit any Ticketmaster outlet.  Tickets will also be available at the Mohegan Sun Box Office starting Saturday, October 13th, subject to availability.
After more than 25 sterling years and global record sales in excess of 30 million, Lauper has proven that she has the heart and soul to keep her legion of fans compelled by her every creative move.
In the past five years, Lauper has released two diverse, Grammy-nominated and critically-acclaimed albums — 2008’s Bring Ya To Tha Brink (which featured two #1 Billboard Dance tracks) and 2010’s Memphis Blues (the top selling Blues album of 2010, #1 on the Billboard’s Blues Chart for 14 weeks).
The next year will prove to be another amazing period for this career artist as Lauper teams with Harvey Fierstein to bring the cult-favorite film Kinky Boots to life on Broadway.
Kinky Boots is Lauper’s stunning creative, theatrical debut – she previously appeared in the 2006 revival of Threepenny Opera as Jenny, a performance The New York Times described as  “teary, soulful intensity.” Kinky Boots made its pre-Broadway world premiere in Chicago last week and will open at Broadway’s Al Hirschfield Theatre on April 4, 2013.
In January, Lauper will premiere her WE tv reality show in partnership with Mark Burnett’s One Three Inc, bringing viewers along on all-access journey into her personal and professional life. The show will welcome fans in to witness her constant, as Cyndi says, “struggle with the juggle.”
As always, Lauper continues her philanthropic work through her foundation, the True Colors Fund. The True Colors Fund was co-founded by Cyndi Lauper to inspire and engage everyone, especially straight people, to become active participants in the advancement of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender equality and to raise awareness about and bring an end to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender youth homelessness.
Mohegan Sun Arena is ranked 3rd in the U.S. and 4th in the world by Billboard Magazine and was the 2008 and 2010 recipient of a Country Music Award for “Casino of The Year.”  Venues Today also ranked Mohegan Sun Arena #4 in 2011 and ranked in the top six of “Top Stops of The Decade” in 2012.
