BALLO Italian Restaurant set to open across from Frank Pepe’s Pizzeria Napoletana next year
UNCASVILLE, CT (December 14, 2023) – Mohegan Sun, one of the world’s leading integrated entertainment resort destinations, is pleased to announce The Shed Restaurant, a new restaurant concept by celebrated restaurateur, John J. Tunney III. This new dining offering will be located in Casino of the Earth, adjacent to Tunney’s other renowned dining offering BALLO Italian Restaurant and across from Frank Pepe’s Pizzeria Napoletana. The 8,100 square-foot space is set to open in Spring 2024.

The Shed Restaurant offers a bright take on American comfort food (including items that are gluten-free, vegetarian, or can be easily modified to be vegan) and features a scratch kitchen with a robust list of specialty brunch, lunch and dinner options—from the indulgent to the healthful. The Shed Restaurant’s enticing dining menus are only made better by the ultra-friendly team and rustic beach-chic ambiance that incorporates warm textured woods, pops of color and intriguing works of art.
Popular menu items include Skillet Mac & Cheese topped with corn, jalapeños, bacon and green onion, Glazed Salmon paired with Brussels sprouts, sweet potatoes, & shallots, topped with a sweet mustard glaze, and the savory Chicken & Waffles with spicy habanero honey on the side. Gluten-free options include a hearty Breakfast Bowl, complete with two poached eggs, avocado, homefries, spinach, onions, corn, jalapeños and a chipotle hollandaise, Arugula Roasted Tomato Benedict served with delicious home fries, and The Shed Bowl made with roasted chicken, arugula, radish, sweet potatoes, wild rice, sunflower seeds, mushrooms, goat cheese and a spiced honey vinaigrette.
The Shed Restaurant was established in 2017, and the Mohegan Sun location joins sister locations in Huntington, NY, West Sayville, NY, Plainview, NY and Westbury, NY.
